Gr7 - AWM vs 30 civs on a giant map

How many turns are left on RP?
After that we can build aqueducts, head for medicine and scientific methods (start a prebuild in Mauch Chunk on time for ToE), do the Hoover slingshot and go for espionage.

there are 107 cities left on our continent. That will give us 270 towns, after that we should do as proposed. Raze island cities and start a campaign on the other continent.

Don't forget about capture Arabia. I can't wait to have a dye monopoly. I love keeping luxuries out of the AIs hands.
 
I looked at the save, why don't we build Newton in 5 turns in Mauch Chunk. Sure, it does not much to science, but we can deny the AI from getting it and in 5 turns, that's a real bargain.

I also spotted a huge stack of armies fortified in our land, why don't we use them to start razing babs towns before they get infantry?

I left the stack there the *last* turn. I wanted Matt_G to have a choice in what direction he sent the attack forces.

Looks like we are making good progress. I am glad we are assaulting Arabia already.

We may be able to also consider assaults on some other backward nations at some point in the future (before the main other continent. It could give us launch points for the assault. I am thinking if we have them under control about the time we get to flight, we can then move them between continents easily and launch from the nearby lands to avoid boat sinkage issues.
 
Guys, I hate to do this but I'm going to have to drop this game.
I just have to much going on in RL to play Civ.
Between work getting crazy (again), and trying to get the new house landscaped before the snow flies and about a dozen other things going on, I just can't play. No time.

I apologize to the team and to Greebley especially. If I had known this was going to happen I wouldn't have joined in the first place.

I knew this game would last this long, and that I would have the new house to deal with. I thought I could handle it, but I just didn't plan on work going nuts on me as well. :(

I feel bad about doing this to you guys, but I just don't have any other options here. :sad:

I played 7 turns so far and can give a short update. My leadergeneration stinks. Only 1 MGL so far. I formed a three cav army that will go overseas, too. We have destroyed the Mayans. Germany is down to 5 cities and we got Sun Tzu. Portugal is down to 6 cities and falling. The Arabic campaign slowed down due to constant landings of other AIs. The dyes seem to be quite liked. We expanded towards Germany and Portugal. As Rat suggested I built Newton's in Mauch Chunk. RP is in and the first infantries ordered. Research is set to nationalism. This can still be changed as we got it last IBT. I will check in here before my final 3 turns this evening for any suggestions.

I thought the game plan was medicine and sci method for ToE. The faster we get Hoover, the quicker the game ends. After that we can get spies.

It sounds like the steam roller got even faster. ;)
 
yes, please go for ToE (medicine and sci methods) before anything else. With that we get Hoover and get a real boost.
So, start a prebuild on time judging from research turns.
 
We'll need nationalism later when we got for espionage. The other benefits of nationalism have gone away.

I agree. We have better defenders with infantry, and no pressing need for the draft. I don't see us mobilizing. The only gain is police that may save a turn in a few cities.


Now that we have Civil Engineers have we reset the cities lacking aquaducts to have some where capped out at size 6? This is a case where I will give us the scientist for now to get the extra unit support and more of them later.


It will really be nice to have some infantry on the map. I won't argue with some artillery either. Of course, we still need more factories to pump these expensive units out.

I agree with that. It sounds like what I hoped for has started to happen. As we trash some of the civs, it would reduce the number of units to allow us faster progress.

I hope we have a lot of ships coming soon from the coastal cities with factories.


Based on the progress from my round along with markh round I want to the building push to go heavy for factories. We need sheer number of units conquer the whole world.

Next turn Arabia will vanish also, but beware all these foreign ships at the Arabic coast are loaded. Attached is a pic where the Babylonians try to get to us. I began to raze English and Dutch cities. They will fall fast. England just made it into industrial, but they do not have nationalism or salpeter, so all they have in defence are pikes. I engaged civil engineers in the northeast for aqueducts as long as it did not delay our research. Mauch Chunk is set to Universal Suffrage as prebuild for TOE. An empty army is on the way back from Arabia. I think the units we have there are sufficient to hold it.

Now that is progress. :D


Once Arabia is done we should prepare for the next overseas assault. My vote is to hit the backwards Celts and raze there 5 cities ASAP. We need to keep hitting civs beyond our continent.
