Guess the map 16: No need for that latitude!

related to air quality?
No

Does the data represent a short duration (less than a month?) or a much longer duration?

think it is probably a year, but it is the output of a model rather than actual data.

For a clue, that map is basically a delta of this

^^^ clearly population influenced.

Next clue.

What the map "means" is fairly basic, rather than some complex derivative. It is actually a mathematical construction that I suspect has little to do with the real world, and what it actually is the difference in the integration of the product of the second two graphs below.

No, but you are so close. Change the other bit of your post on Tuesday, you have the wrong interpretation of the difference between green and grey.

Change in death rates due to climate change?
Yes. I have to say it is very much not real, it is a mathematical function as I described above, projecting current death rates to future temperature predictions. I am not sure that is valid at all. But it is interesting all the same.

Just to clarify what we are trying to guess, the colour gradient has been applied to Ohio only, and represents some feature we have to guess? Or is the pink of Canada and the yellow of the surrounding states part of the same scale, perhaps lower than all of Ohio?

All you have to guess is what the map-maker was trying to portray when they made the map. Why do you think they colored it the way they did?
