EDIT: btw. the whole of Antarctica is orange which leads me to believe we're on another something geographical again since well, it's not a state, but international territory...

Oh, and you forgot to colour Svalbard in Norway's colour.

EDIT2: Anomalies I see are Djibouti (blue in a orange sea), Moldova (has neither the colour of the Ukraine nor Romania...) and the Haiti-Dominican Republic difference. The map does have to have some overlap with colonial relations though.

Orange would have to be Firefox, since at least as of a couple years ago, that was the most popular browser in Germany.

Correct, it's web browser usage. I actually found the picture online, and Svalbard in that picture wasn't colored, so I didn't feel like coloring it.
