How is your EU3 Game going?

move your transports to the sea province you harbour is in and just move your army to your fleet as you would normally do when moving units(remember to check if there is room for your army)

You need the appropriate number of cogs (transports) though. Each cog carry's a regiment.

I've been wanting to play another EU3 game but I'm kind of wondering what nation I should start as. I do like a challenge but not an Incan vs Spain challenge. I'll have to look at the tech rates for the tech groups to give me an idea.

But I also kind of want to wait until a Divine Wind version of the Whole World mod comes out as that looks pretty cool and extends the years into the early 1900's.

I'm still having trouble understanding why people would want to extend the end date on EU3. The game goes on for so long as it is! TBH I'm usually ready for a game to be over by the time I hit the 1700 mark, even my Germany game, which has been a longer game for me, was done before 1730.

Allah Akbar! Started a game as Hedjaz. Eventually dominated the Arabian peninsula and fended off a Mamluk intervention. Syria spawned and Aden respawned before I put them under my heal. The good news is that the Ottomans have been neutralized. The bad news is that they were neutralized by the French and we had a -200 relationship with them! Fortunately I eventually got trade up and running and could afford to placate the French with gifts so we're barely in the positive. I'm looking into making a push into Jalayirid and Mamluk to expand my territory and smoothen out my borders a bit, but I'm waiting until I accumulate enough money and I'm concerned about the occasional civil war that pops up, which I can handle. That is if the French don't beat me to the punch. Eventually I'd like to push up into French Asia but I'm lagging a bit behind in the technology race. I'm at 8 Army 8 Navy while the French are at something like 15 for both. I suppose I can make up with a huge army but trade is a bit tenuous around the Indian ocean. Probably I could wait until rebels rise up and form their own nations.

Cuz then I have enough time to conquer entire world, without having to get 99 infamy?

It can be done within the timeframe of the game:p

World conquest can be achieved in 400 years without exceeding infamy, but it's boring and gamey to do a complete world conquest

Scotland update!

I'm now a republic! woot woot

As for the ROTW:

-Trollemia be trollin
-Prussia's a beast
-France is leading a personal union with Burgundy (gulp)
-Hesse has gobbled up all of central Europe, everyone there is it's vassal (except the one's who are Bohemia's)
-Castile has conquered central Asia
-Manchu has met them there (also gulp)
-Syria has surprisingly handled itself very well, and has most of the Middle East under it's control, and one Italian province
-Ottomans have also made a surprising resurgence, and now own most of Anatolia

Fun stuff!

I hate it when Castille does that.
It kills the whole game for me, sometimes.

:lol:That's so awesome I may just use it as my wallpaper...

Thanks to my friends computer breaking I now own the chronicles version of this. However I have no idea how to play what mods to potentially use, and where to get patches. Anyone can point me in the right direction to some tutorials and things of that nature? The last Paradox game I played was HOI1 like 6 years ago which i doubt the games have much in common.

There's a tutorial in game. There's digital manual in game folder or somewhere.
And then there is AAR Forum, that contains pictures/stories of games that people have played so far, some of them have realy good advice, tips and gameplay tutorials.
There is also EU3 Wiki, which has been realy useful to me.

Start with something large, like Castille, France or England.

I would recommend playing DW without mods for a few games, then you know what irritates you most and can get a mod based on that.

Thanks for the help :)

My most successful England game to date. Finally defeated France in a major war and forced France to release Normandy and even captured several of their provinces without acquiring Infamy. France is now beaten and lay bloody.

I am allied with Castille, Burgundy, Brittany and several minor German states. It was the coordinated efforts of all of us to finally bring France down, I focused mostly on the southern regions plus Calais while Burgundy focused on the eastern sections of France and Brittany focused on the western regions. We managed to get each French vassal to peace out quickly to make our jobs easier.

I have also conquered Jylland in Denmark when answering my ally's, Norway, call. I also peacefully annexed Scotland deciding to try vassalizing them first then diplo-annex them instead. As a result my infamy is 0, my legitimacy is 100, and my economy is skyrocketing, despite supporting 59 ships and 42 regiments. I am currently the most powerful European country in Europe, possibly even the world.

Spoiler :

Looking good so far! :)

Why not attempt to rebuild the British Empire before the game's end? Would certainly keep you busy for a while!

Well, after having my arse handed to me as Castille (!!), when Aragon, France and England all declared war on me, I'm playing a different game as Castille, wherein I managed to get a personal union with Aragon within two years of start of play! I'm now also in union with Portugal and I've spent the last 60 years fighting for my various allies in Europe...

So I've been progressing with my Hedjaz game better than expected! I finally made my big push into Mamluk and that other purple thing that I posted in an earlier screenshot. So now the Mamluk's are a very minor power primarily due to my new French allies! My diplomatic gestures were not in vain and it was good to have a powerful European power on your side. Plus it gave me plenty of conquesting opportunities with my less developed neighbors without suffering a stability hit. Unfortunately it seems the French over extended themselves around the Mediterranean and numerous rebels were rising up. Syria and Iraq rose up but Iraq got swallowed up my Armenia eventually. It's for the best really as while I was lagging behind in the technology race with the rest of Europe earlier, I cranked up the free-thinking policy, set up manufactories, started Westernizing and even figured out how to get a high level adviser finally so now I'm at 20 land tech while the rest of Europe is at 21 or 22.

Right now I'm focusing on keeping my infamy low and keeping my technology advancing at a quicker pace than Europe, while making little territorial conquests on the side of course. Conquered Judea finally for Allah! I think I'll eventually create a few 30 regiment army in anticipation for pushing the French out of the Middle East as the largest armies I've seen of there's were 25.
