How is your EU3 Game going?

That is one HUGE Mali

EDIT: xpost. I could be wrong, but that does sound like you could be in perpetual war.

Scotland in 1454, under the reign of James II Stuart, grandson of Robert III, Last of the Old Kings, in the Dark Campaign (Years of Rice & Salt scenario).

Shortly after this map was commissioned, James II retired in his sixties to allow his son James III to take the throne at 36, who promptly died 30 months later and his son became James IV at the tender age of 17. After multiple fears of a barren Icelandic wife, James IV finally produced a Stuart heir and promptly died at the age of 22, leaving only the three-year-old James V and the toddler's elderly great-grandfather (formerly James II) left alive!

The only Catholic powers remaining are Scotland, Iceland, Sardinia, Aragon (the Balearics). the Knights (Malta) and Crete (Greek islands), with Orthodox Tver and pagan Estonia (my vassal).

eu3maplat149511171.jpg

Notice the HUGE Mamluks, they already were on the atlantic coast at around 1470, or maybe even less, caliphate much? (sadly i will have to fight them sooner or later, me and my juniors Burgundy and Austria)
No, they aren't even close to collapsing and are one of the most powerful empires in the world, no, i'm not playing with Lucky Nations on.

also :
Sure, D&T has these events that give guys like him, but that great advisor event came nicely timed for him :goodjob:

EDIT :

Those Mamluks are so much better than mine

Here is my Mamluks after a few wars in a short amount of time:

Please note dat Castille, who inherited Uber-Poland and annexed the Ottomans

EDIT: it appears I forgot to take a screenshot. In the meantime, please bask in the glory of Protestant Brittany.

Okay! The HRE formed and it's weakened. They are allied with France, Poland and two sicilies. I am allied with the GB. Should I atempt to Ally Castille and attack the HRE?
This will end up being a pretty massive war.

You certainly lost the game when the AI beats you to world domination.

Doesn't a formed HRE tend to kill it's self?

Doesn't a formed HRE tend to kill it's self?

That's the impression I've always gotten from PI forums. I doubt even a coalition of Castille GB and Italy in that game could get anything more than a WP with France and HRE. Probably what happens is Castille's forces are stopped in their tracks by French stacks, British forces land in Scandinavia or North Germany in too small of numbers to match up to the 50K stacks that the HRE sends. You're probably left taking the brunt of the German assault in Lombardia and Venetia, not ideal IMO. Better idea is to wait for the HRE to rack up the WE and rebels and invade when they're on the verge of collapse, if not later.

I'm playing MEIOU with Bosnia, I took Raška from Serbia and Duklja from Montenegro and Ragusa, I'm good with Hungary and I have an alliance with Poland, how can I stop an Ottoman invasion, note they changed to a despotic monarchy and their flag changed.

My current try at restoring the Roman Empire at semi-historical borders (it didn't owned that much of the caucasus, for example, maybe i will create vassals)
I inherited France around 8 years before this screenshot...

Mine isn't boring, most countries aren't so much backwards in land tech like vanilla, and Poland is a absolute monster, here's England with their large navy (they are juniors in PU with Holland since long ago tough )
Persia is also quite strong, as are most big AIs in Asia. I'm the most advanced tech-wise tough, i am going to go one more slider move to innovative and get Scientific Revolution NI, after that i will start going to narrowminded, i need to convert my territories ;) and 1.50 missionaries a year isn't enough

That game is seriously <snip> if it's not modded... Urbino a major power? Austrian France in Africa? Balkanized Iberia? DAT BAVARIA?

Compared to the AI you're not making much of an impression. But nice diplomacy.

EDIT: Just realized you vassalized all of those allies. I couldn't see Aachen's name over all the armies and colors :p

Not bad. Not bad at all. I take it Balkanized France and/or GB was your doing?

Dat very late edit: France broke up GB then I broke up France.
