Scotland in 1454, under the reign of James II Stuart, grandson of Robert III, Last of the Old Kings, in the Dark Campaign (Years of Rice & Salt scenario).
Shortly after this map was commissioned, James II retired in his sixties to allow his son James III to take the throne at 36, who promptly died 30 months later and his son became James IV at the tender age of 17. After multiple fears of a barren Icelandic wife, James IV finally produced a Stuart heir and promptly died at the age of 22, leaving only the three-year-old James V and the toddler's elderly great-grandfather (formerly James II) left alive!
The only Catholic powers remaining are Scotland, Iceland, Sardinia, Aragon (the Balearics). the Knights (Malta) and Crete (Greek islands), with Orthodox Tver and pagan Estonia (my vassal).
