How often and in what circumstances do you "like" on this forum?

Sometimes I have a phase when I just read through the forums and 'like' a lot of posts, sometimes I don't 'like' posts at all for weeks, and when I do like stuff, then it's not or any good reason, but usually just because I had an emotional reaction to a post. I'm very inconsistent when it comes to that.

I also always tell myself to not just "return" likes that I've received, but sometimes I can't help myself and do it anyway.

In a sometimes passive-aggressive, mocking way, I noticed.
Actually, that is not so. When I choose to like a post, I do so because I do like the post that I click the like button for. You may not agree with my likes, but that is pretty irrelevant. Now, if I had "liked" your post that I quoted here, then you would be correct, but you will note that I didn't. I am guessing that you have found situations where I have liked a post that was critical of you in some way and you have decided that is passive aggressive against you rather than complementary towards the poster. Not everything in OT is about you Valka.

So complimenting somebody who insults me isn't passive-aggressively insulting me?

JFCOAS.

You do realize that what you said is nonsense, right? At least I hope you realize that. You can't possibly seriously think that I'd see that and say, "Wow, Birdjaguar was so nice to drop a "like" on that post that insulted me. He must really like both of us."

No reasonable person would interpret it that way, and you know it.

You certainly like to wear your sensitivities on your sleeve. I am truly puzzled by why you seem to seek out anything that you can remotely conger up as rude or insulting to you and go public with it. My original post in this thread had nothing to do with you, but once again you take a perfectly nice thread about liking posts and turn it into a "look at how I've been insulted thread". You have no idea what is going on in my mind when I like a post. And as I said before, Valka, not everything in OT is about you.

Moderator Action: Let's return to the topic please. If you feel you need to have a disagreement with another poster, then by all means take it to PM and do not derail an otherwise nice thread.

. . . an otherwise perfectly likeable thread, I might venture.:D

I liked it too ;)

If it really nailed how I was thinking, or I found it particularly clever or funny. Or just for fun.

Retired moderator fight

I just liked outside my normal parameters...
I like this post enough to make a comment to say that I liked it, instead of just hitting the like button.

Also, food for thought: Liking a moderator action could technically be seen as PDMA.

Are PDs about the PDMA policy in general allowed? Or is PDPDMA also a thing?

I hope QAPDPDMA are okay...

Moderator Action: Public discussions about PDMA are not allowed. If you have a question about the policy, then by all means ask in PM. We will be happy to clarify it for you. --LM

I don't know, I don't have a system. If I like something, I will click 'like'. Or if somebody wrote something to me, but all I have to say is "awesome" or "nice", instead of writing that useless post, I just like instead

It's kind of funny seeing every post liked in this thread
