If I support a sentiment but don't feel the need to reply to it.
In a sometimes passive-aggressive, mocking way, I noticed. My "likes" are mostly a "thank you for posting that".
Actually, that is not so. When I choose to like a post, I do so because I do like the post that I click the like button for. You may not agree with my likes, but that is pretty irrelevant. Now, if I had "liked" your post that I quoted here, then you would be correct, but you will note that I didn't. I am guessing that you have found situations where I have liked a post that was critical of you in some way and you have decided that is passive aggressive against you rather than complementary towards the poster. You certainly like to wear your sensitivities on your sleeve. I am truly puzzled by why you seem to seek out anything that you can remotely conger up as rude or insulting to you and go public with it. My original post in this thread had nothing to do with you, but once again you take a perfectly nice thread about liking posts and turn it into a "look at how I've been insulted thread". You have no idea what is going on in my mind when I like a post. And as I said before, Valka, not everything in OT is about you.
So complimenting somebody who insults me isn't passive-aggressively insulting me?
JFCOAS.
You do realize that what you said is nonsense, right? At least I hope you realize that. You can't possibly seriously think that I'd see that and say, "Wow, Birdjaguar was so nice to drop a "like" on that post that insulted me. He must really like both of us."
No reasonable person would interpret it that way, and you know it.
I like this post enough to make a comment to say that I liked it, instead of just hitting the like button.Retired moderator fight
I just liked outside my normal parameters...
Oh crap, never thought of that.Liking a moderator action could technically be seen as PDMA
I use inductive probability to calculate the chance my like increases the probability of future good content from said poster, and then award likes accordingly.
