So if some Texans declare Texas as "independent", then anyone crossing in from Mexico to fight the U.S. army isn't crossing illegally? They are crossing fropm Mexico into an independent Texas?

If the provisional government of Texas was willing to allow the Mexicans to pass into the country in order to volunteer to fight, then yes.

Mexico would win, without US support.

Either way, being a bully doesn't make one right or less of a bigot.

No mexico would loose, big time, come to texas i invite you, go to a nice red neck town and count the firearms and ammunition please. There is enough firepower in some of these towns to make a national guard armory look meek.

Spoken by a Texan that isn't even tough enough to get his paycheck on time.;)

REally well i called corprate and my check arrived shortly via DHL, so i got my check, go back to paying attetion to Dallas please, we dont want you.

So do Mexican Gangs.

Mexico was defending its territory, and the US conquered it. Mexico had no choice.

John: Mexicans are American from the start. It also should not matter if Hispanics are minorities or the majority. Not all Mexicans are Hispanic, anyway.

Mexico had not surrendered the territory when Davy Crockett crossed over, just as the U.S. did not surrender Texas to the Republic of Texas fools from about a decade ago.

I've been to Texas. They are just regular joes.

They would? Last I heard, Texas was still the only state with its own air force. F-15s and F-16s, IIRC. I think Mexico is still flying junk from the 60s. What is more is that Texas doesn't need the U.S. Gov't to support it in the war. I would gladly grab my pack and rifle and head down there to fight, without orders.

You got the heart of a Texan, though your in the North from that one statement id be proud to adopt you into Texas one day. And Texas is the only state taht keeps its own Air Force, Navy and standing Militia. Its one of those provisions we got when we joined, we get alot of special privliges :D

So do Mexican Gangs.

yes but they cant shoot worth a damn, im talking about Texas rednecks, the kinda people that for fun shoot beer bottles at 20 yards without a scope just to see how many they can hit. I grew up with there ppl, and trust me, you dont want to get them armed. Ive seen it, its not pretty heres an example for you

In my old Town some girl had gotten kidnapped in dallas and the kidnapper was speeding down US HW 377 towards granbury, where 15 miles west of Granbury mind you, we hear it on the police scanner, and we set up our own roadblock, we parked cars in front and then every last one of them good ole boys had some gun out and aimed down the road, they where ready to shoot that guy, and lucky for him he got arrested out side of tolar TX, 6 miles from that roadblock.

Lucky for the girl too as the good ole boys would have got her killed.

That is a very good point. You know, I didn't know that, until recently, that there were still a lot of old tribal peoples left in Mexico. I was stunned to know that some direct ancestors of the Mayans and Incas are still around in parts of Latin America. Pretty interesting stuff.

However, I digress. The fact that not all Mexicans are Hispanic is kind of irrelevant.

hahahaha.

Texas has never been defeated, we are not normal. US Civil War neither texas regiment was ever defeated in any engagement. WW2 the one US ARmy regiment from Texas went forward without ever retreating unless ordered because the rest of the division couldnt keep up. Texans dont loose, we are born to fight. I shot my first gun when i was 10, and ive been practicing ever since.

Didn't Texas surrender along with of the rest of the South?

no the idea was shoot his engine out, and then close in on him and open hell from point blank.

We can debate this issue until we are blue in the face, but the fact is that the Republic of Texas, formed in 1835, had popular support and that popular support was accepting assistance from American Volunteers. Get over it.

Again, this is way off topic. The point is that Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone are examples of American culture that I was talking about. If you people want to discuss the Texas Revolution, please start your own thread.

Mexico has a much larger military, and it can obtain an even larger one.

actully no we didnt, umm, tahts the odd part about this whole thing if you really want to know. Texas signed a peace treaty more or less ang agreed to come back, the Union couldnt actully get into texas, they kept tring but we kept sending them back out, in truth texas never surrendered after the south fell we just lost interest and just said why not go back. Thats why we had the shortest period of reformation of any of the southern states.

They joined the Confederacy and then they rejoined the power that defeated the Confederacy. That is surrender in my book.

Many Mexicans are descendants of those tribal people. What is your excuse?

It is relevant, because you complained of having a Hispanic majority.
