I just don't like mitt Romney

Essentially, Mitt is wearing the Conservative (US) Republican Canidate mask. Placing down issues of abortion and same gender marriage opposition instead of presenting real issues that should be seen in the US like jobs, the economy, and the national debt.

I may be going realpolitik on this, but if we can't take care of our own house first, how can we take care of social issues?

Its a shame I'm the only one who calls people out for using these words in the same sentence. It's not your fault. Conservatives say abortion is murder, but rarely really believe it (You guys know that I do), and this is proven by how they act like SSM "Is going to bring God's judgment on our country." If you want to go that route, so, wait a second, we're going to get judged for allowing SSM, when we're already allowing murder?

Abortion should be the most serious issue in politics, while any politician higher than that of state governor who uses the phrase "Gay marriage" should be 100% ignored.

(Unless they're saying "Should be left to the states" immediately after that. In that regard, I'm actually, amazingly, more annoyed by Romney's position than Obama's. Obama, on this rare issue, actually supports Federalism. Probably cause it ain't that big a deal;))

We also need to deal with the wiretapping of phones that they get away with, send the troops back home (All of them, except probably the ones in SK) and shut down the drug war. That alone would free up money to possibly be used for those types of purposes. Then worry about the economy.

The best way to stop abortion is enforced chastity. We have plenty of embryos to adopt before anyone should be allowed to breed.

Did anywhere in my post did I complained about my situation? Did anywhere in my post did i placed blame on eather of the canidade? Quick answer for both, no I didn't! I'm not the reason why I am unemployed, the crummy economy is the reason why I'm unemployed. The same truth holds towards other long term unemployed individuals who are struggling to get a job, not just me.

The point in that was going across in that example is that they go at it like a broken record as something that they only care about. It's becoming as stale as Christmas cookies from five years ago. All while important issues are addressed minimally at best.

While I do favor choice (in both abortion and civil unions), it can take a back seat for a while when we rebuild and heal this nation from the Great Recession. The economy should be the first and foremost issue to tangle with, any social issues should be left to the states (exception of course is changing the federal tax code to allow same gender couples to file jointly, but that's a different topic all together).

I'm not even going to start with the attack ads, since they alone don't market the candidate themselves. Only painting a bad picture of their opponent.

No, you misunderstand. I know he takes positions now, but its a completely different list than the ones he backed in Massachusettes and I hardly trust him on what his positions are.

Would you rather have Obama's views instead? I most certainly don't want to have them. When voting for a politician it is not about whether they are likeable or not, but it is al about their policies. Obama is most definitely a social liberal and for me that is no-no.

I couldn't figure out how to copy and paste the picture, so here it is.

Really, who cares? If you're a social conservative, fine; vote for social conservatives in Congress. They make the laws. But the Presidency is something else entirely. For the President you're ultimately voting for a person more than anything else. And I honestly don't know how anyone looks at Romney and how he's behaved over the course of this campaign and says, 'That's the guy I trust to effectively run my country.'

So you would vote for a Pharisee over Jesus?

I don't care that much about social issues, those will move with the times regardless.

Disagree. These issues can break either way.

Progress has to be earned. We can't sit back on our asses, "vote the economy" and expect social issue progress.

I've looked all the issues and although I side with Obama on most of them, the main reason I'm not voting for Romney is because I just don't like him. He just gihe's off that "I'm a big douchebag" aura. He's just plain unlikable. I actually think this is the main reason he's going to lose by 5 or more points. Anybody else think this?

I dont vote for someone based on if they are 'likeable'.

That actually goes a long way in international affairs and rallying the country. Charisma is important. Mitt doesn't have any.

Outside of SOPA, these issues don't really effect me. Gay people being allowed or not allowed to get married does not effect my life in any way. Likewise, although I'm pro-life in most cases(outside of rape(and not statutory rape) and when its a danger to the mother) but it doesn't really effect my life either.

I'll simply disagree with you on that.

Speaking of international affairs....this week hasnt been that great for Obama has it? And our nation is more polarized now than its ever been it seems.

There is a reason a vast majority feels our nation is headed in the wrong direction. The people in charge arent doing a very good job. We certainly dont need 4 more years of what we just had.

if the 2 parties are gonna run this country, i'd rather have divided govt - reminds me of when the gop took the house after 2 years of clinton

romney is slime, his recent comments about africa turns my stomach

vote Gary Johnson

Romney doesn't come across to me as a douchebag. I think he's gansta. A perfect fit for an American President.

A perfect scenario: a top aide for the USDOD ask Romney what shall we do with a now current actionable intelligence about another discovered location of an important key operative for Al Qaeda - let's say Yemen. Romney look at him for a brief moment, like he did with that reporter and then said nothing. A few hours later an AP reporter from Yemen said that there was another top Al Qaeda member killed by an American drone strike.
