Would you teach middle school, high school, or elementary school or something else in the poll?

I would never teach anything higher then elementary school if i had to be a teacher. The kids in middle school i remember are some of the worst people on the planet.

Assuming that I know enough about my subject to be able to, say, argue about it, then I would teach at university. There's more of a guarantee that people at uni are there because they actually want to be there; in my experience middle-school kids don't care beans for their work. I can't honestly understand why anyone would want to teach in one of those.

University - because it has the lowest probability of retards you'll have in a classroom. It's somewhere between 40-70% depending on the course.

This poll would have been a lot more interesting if "university" were left out. :p

either high school or university.

i like the age group, but voted HS because i wouldnt want to have to do a paper all the time like a uni. proffesor, haha.

University, I can have the TA's do everything.

HS or Uni for me, if it was HS I'd like to run some advanced courses, preferably AP or AP prep, Honors at the very least.

Hmm, high school is doing quite well. Do people clean up their act in high school in America? (In Bedfordshire, we have Lower, Middle and Upper Schools, and the students seem to get progressively worse until they hit Sixth Form, which is the end of compulsory education, so all the twozacks leave.)

University is the most lucrative, academic, and you don't have to care about your students. You can fail them without any remorse. But I voted high-school, so maybe I could stop the kids from screwing up the future.

Military school also looks good. You get to whip the kids into shape and can be as strict as I want. My peers these days are too spoiled and need to go back to some good old fashioned stuff.

My girlfriend is a highschool teacher and she's starting to have doubts as if she will be able to do this all her life. Teenagers interests are not into learning, can you blame them?

I'm personally in the long process of becoming university professor in accounting. I have about 7-8 more years to go ;)

My fiance' teaches 7th and 8th grade social studies. She loves it but will likely become a professor within the next 10 years. She feels she's truly impacting lives at this age and does some cool projects. She has a holocaust survivor coming in next week.
