New Years Resolutions etc.
What are your hopes?
What are your dreams?

I want to have been promoted. What do you want? How are you going to achieve it?

I want to be well-read in history up until 1 AD. I want to speak Hebrew perfectly and be working on Arabic. I want to be actively writing fiction.

I hope that Ron Paul does something over the line and is exposed for the racist, conspiratorial, pseudoscientific fraud that he is. I hope that the US comes to an accommodation with Iran.

I also want to lose my virginity. I have high standards, but being an American in the IDF might help me reach them!

In all probability, I'll look back on this post as immature and unfunny. I would advise you have this locked, btw, because I'm probably not the only one who's thought of necroing this in four months to get a rise out of the CFC community.

I have a vague mental list of projects I'd like to tackle this year.. Here's the list, as I remember it right now:

- Research, design, and assemble a new gaming PC
- Plan out my basement and make it into an entertainment room in time for the world cup - buy couch, ottoman or coffeetable, figure out designated spot for dog to sit, put up posters, figure out what to do with the foostable.. Long term plans for the space include a bar at the end. So far I have a large tv on the wall ready to go and a decent couch, but this needs to improve.
- I need to get my goddamn license so that I can operate motor vehicles legally in Canada and other places.
- Visit my sister in south Carolina
- Visit my friends in Vancouver (and maybe see Seattle and/or Portland and/or mountains)
- Start planning trip to Nepal, figure out the when and the who the hell would want to go with me
- Fix up the tv shelf in my bedroom, rearrange cables, connect electronics to house-wide network

Bonus priority level 2 type stuff:

- Put in an new floor in my office and maybe put the couch that's in the basement now up here
- Design and implement a garden for my backyard, to go beside my new shed
- Try to seduce a woman or two

* Driver's licence (though it arguably can wait, but not that long)
* Get my gaming development business running
* Become fully fluent in French and German
* Stop screwing around and get a serious relationship

I should do this.

My main objective for this year is to find a way to get into St. Andrews university.

You're missing one item on your list. You have to add "wave to Valka as I fly over Alberta". :)

*Get my drivers' license.
*Get a job or take open enrollment classes at a community college.
*Find someway to finish high school early or convince parents to let me finish it on the East Coast.

A better job with benefits and better pay
A girlfriend
Starting the process of finding a place to call my own

How long will you be bumping this? My point is will I have to have achieved my goal in this lifetime?

End my love-life hiatus.

Find a better job.

Write a short story.

Finish at least two hundred pages of the novel I'm writing.

Get in shape. Current status: 92,3 kg at 1,84 with a considerable gut and fat ass.
My aim is to build muscle and lose fat, so it's hard to express my goal in numbers, but I shouldn't be heavier than 85 -90 kilos by the end of 2014.

I'm in the weird position now of needing some new big goals, since I just got my dream job, and I've checked off a lot of the BIG TICKET ITEMS from my early 20s.

Next year, I'd like to have the rest of my student loans paid off, and maybe lose 10 pounds. These are relatively modest goals though, so I'll need to think of a new *stretch* goal.
