Imperium Offtopicum: The Aftermath

In what way is the homeland of the portugese people, which has few if any English speakers, yours? What do you want with a poor, radioactive wasteland that will be in constant revolt and drag your economy down? Not to mention you'll have to guard it with military from New England that could have been used to guard your own borders. And the fact it's an ocean away.

Actually, Portugal has a sizable number of English speakers now, and about the same number Yankees can now speak Portuguese. This was due to a succesful decision in order to creat a two launguage state.

And Portugal was a state in the union. You were just as important as us as Mass. or New York was. But then you college student dropouts just had to declare an independent Portugal, and now look how your lands are. Obviouslly, Portugal is being ruled by an incompetent dictator. If you come back, Portugal will be better off!

To the Marians, you are overstating Portugal's prowness. They have four territories. KNE have much more than just four. We can take on a couple of furries while we're at it, to.

Verily, for the GM wills it.

No war until after first update, folks. :)

Well, you don't want Thorvald to think it'd be best to pull the plug before it's even in the socket!

---

To the Marians, you are overstating Portugal's prowness. They have four territories. KNE have much more than just four.

In addition to Portugal and the MF having 13 territories in Iberia against your 13 in Albion and the Lowlands, we have vast global resources (including an array of Blue Zones, of which you have none) at our disposal. While international shipping has suffered, take heed that our transportation capabilities are obviously not subpar, given the fact we are scattered across three main regions and countless outposts.

Economically speaking, we have more Blue Zones than you have territories total. Ignoring that all of said KNE territories are heavily contaminated.

Of course, this is assuming war ever came to be. For the interest of all involved, we hope to reach a diplomatic, rather than military, solution... though none of that can be had if you continue to assume Portugal is your porch.

But, what would it take for KNE to recognise Portuguese independence? That is the question I imagine everyone's eager to have answered, but is a bit nervous to ask.

Not us.

(Thor, do you mind if we have prolonged dialouges with NPC's? I know that's alot of work for you.)
I'll try my best to keep up. I know I upped their strategic value, but I wasn't expecting players to take such a ready interest in them so early. :p

To Kurdistan: As ally to the peoples of Azerbaijan, Petrograd would be interested in formal diplomatic relations between our states. In a similar offer to which we gave to the WAC, Petrograd would request the leasing of land in the South of your country for a military base, preferably close to the borders with Mada and Fars. Such a region has been chosen because it is an instable region, and being close to the border Petrograd can avert potential military belligerancy on Azerbaijan and Kurdistan from Mada and, especially, Fars.
Kurdistan: We welcome an exchange of ambassadors, but must respectfully decline the notion of a permanent military presence on our soil at this time.

In that case, would you like to open trade relations and a NAP?

We would accept any citizens that wish to stay as NCSA citizens. We would pay for the costs of your other citizens to leave and for their loss of land and property. I understand that this might cause some overcrowding in other areas, but if that becomes too big of an issue, they could live in Confederate-controled land, but remain citizens of the Caribbean Commonwealth, and be guarenteed a high standard of living, fair treatment, and even certain benefits.

We would support an overt claim to self-determination, but what benefits would the NCSA recieve if we took you in as a protectorate state?

So would you be interested in trade relations? And does this mean that the NCSA is officially taking you under its wing (AKA you are in our sphere of influence)?
Central American Confederacy: Very much so. May the peace last a thousand years.

Caribbean Commonwealth: This agreement is suitable. Understand, however, that a withdrawal from Cuba must be incremental to ensure proper handling of emigrants and transfer of services.

República de Punta Arenas: The NCSA would be given first access to what exports we can arrange, as well as full rights to station military forces on our land.

Cantabria Libre: Let it be so.

I'll try my best to keep up. I know I upped their strategic value, but I wasn't expecting players to take such a ready interest in them so early. :p

Well, in my games, people suggested there should be a separate player to handle the NPCs.

It is a good idea.. provided they don't screw it up, but that's what GM oversight is for.

While there are far more NPCs in this than my games, at least you don't have to worry about values like trade. ;)

To- Marian Republic Perhaps we could sign a NAP, and recognize our South American borders as they are now.......

To- NCSA This is our final offer, we'll recognize your control over Buenos Aires and you'll refrain from allying your self with Punta Arenas. What say you?

Macau:

The City of Hong kong extends greetings to our noble brothers in Macau. We have long admired your courage in establishing yourself as an independent country, and so wish for closer relations. We both have a common goal in remaining independant from all the great powers of the world. As such, we wish to offer you a free trade agreement, an open borders agreement, and a defensive pact. Let us establish a glorious alliance, and lead the independant states into a new era of co-operation and power.

Sincerely
Lord Ravanius

Commies suck.

A Recent history of Sri Lanka:
1UDyM.png
Sri Lanka before the cataclysm was proudly the only country independent to the USSR in the Indian sub continent. the north-east of the country which was home to the tamil people, a minority in the country, rebled from the republic joining the USSR. following this tensions ran high with minor skirmishes an often occurence against the communists who had claimed the whole country as their own.
After the collapse of the USSR may were disappointed and angry to see the north create there own country; refusing to acknowledged it's existence and claiming it's land for it's self. recently there has been a kind of peace treaty although this is fragile and rarely enforced it's the only thing stopping the two countries from entering total war.

Yeah... I'm staying out of that, unless a mainland Indian nation gets involved.

I'll try my best to keep up. I know I upped their strategic value, but I wasn't expecting players to take such a ready interest in them so early. :p

All right. I'll try to wrap up my negotiations. I didn't expect so much interaction with NPC's either, but I also didn't expect them to be able to conduct diplomacy. I'm just trying to get my neighbors on my side.

Caribbean Commonwealth: This agreement is suitable. Understand, however, that a withdrawal from Cuba must be incremental to ensure proper handling of emigrants and transfer of services.

Would you agree to transfer one territory to the NCSA a turn? I understand how doing the transfer all at once could be problematic. Additionally, would you be interested in being a protectorate or officially part of the NCSA's sphere of influence such as República de Punta Arenas and Cantabria Libre are?

República de Punta Arenas: The NCSA would be given first access to what exports we can arrange, as well as full rights to station military forces on our land.

If I agree to this, I will be setting myself up for war with Patagonia, however, I support the self-determination of smaller nations, so I will agree to this.

Cantabria Libre and República de Punta Arenas are officially under the wing of the New Confederate States of America. Anyone messing with either of them is also messing with us. Patagonia, I suggest you back off Punta Arenas now.

Hello, everyone! I'd like to join the game as the Democratic People's Republic of Somaliland - I know that it's a MIA player-controlled nation, but Ulyaoth hasn't logged in since mid-February, so I'm hoping that Thorvald will allow me to control this nation.

Patagonia

We agree to a non-aggression pact. With South America's current situation, we have no desire to expand our burden there.

General Comments

The controversial abortion bill's wording has been changed so that the poorest 10% of individuals are legally allowed to receive abortions. While some allege this will still target humans due to their making up the lower rungs of society, Sombra's defense is, "We have strong pro-life values in our nation. Any abortion legality at all is just to prevent far disastrous effects, such as the dangerous back alley procedures or the burden of a child that can't be supported. Individuals are still encouraged to give their children to orphanages instead, which are anything but biased against human beings."

To Petrograd
We will turn over any of our territory. We have inhabited these areas for decades now. We have no desire to repeat past mistakes. Nuclear Disarmament is crucial, and we invite all nations to join us in it. And of course, we will take whatever steps are necessary to remove the abhorrents from the region.
Meant will not. In my defense, it was late, and I was tired.

Quick use of the eyedropper tool indicates that the yellow in Iceland, Scandinavia, and Quebec are all the same.

Ergo... Scotland is the owner of Quebecistan.
