When you hear the phrase "into Dark Star" or just "dark star," what is the first thing that comes to your mind?

First thought: something to do with astronomy

Second thought: there was both an SF movie and Alan Dean Foster novel by that name.

Third thought: What's the point of this thread?

Dark star crashes, pouring it's light into ashes.
Reason tatters, the forces tear loose from the axis.
Searchlight casting for faults in the clouds of delusion.
Shall we go, you and I while we can
Through the transitive nightfall of diamonds?

Yeah Grateful Dead. aduh

I thought the film was a hoot, but the track was the first one i had played to me on my first visit to virgin records in birmingham, oh so many years ago.

And the chick behind the counter said, when i asked about the album 'i can recommend dark star' - you don't get that level of service nowadays.

And then I returned home, through the transitive nightfall of diamonds.

I'm curious what people think of when they hear "Dark Star."
A whiny failure character who was intended to be dark and menacing.

I think of the sun suddenly going black. And we realize it 8 minutes later.

The Allman Bros did it a bit too.

Seriously!

I think about Dark Star Comics from Spaced. I guess that comes under "sci-fi"?

It sounds like the title of a science fiction book or movie. It probably is.
