Sir Robin Longstride moved among the ranks of men in the hall. Until a Barracks could be built, this was the best that the Royal Army could be given. Already, they had a company of Artillery Guns built. Howitzers, 100 times better than the ones used in the Napoleonic wars. They fired faster, packed a heavier punch, made bigger booms, and could be transported way faster. Not only that, but a new Rifle design had recently come in, and the few prototypes they had showed they were excellent, and well worth the money.
The men however, were a different story. They were undisciplined. Only allowed to recruit youth from between the ages of 17-25, they had a hard time finding volunteers now that the Empire was gone, and military Glory was no more. The Parliamentary plan called for 20,000 men, but so far after 3 months they only had 2,500. A Brigade of men. Guess that made him the Brigadier. He sure as hell didnt feel like one.
Still, he had Ace battalion, and within that, Glory Company. Ace battalion was the battalion mixed in with some volunteer veterans of the older wars. Mere teenagers then, but they still have the shooting skills, and the discipline. Beneath that you have Glory Company, almost totally comprised of the best veterans and enthusiastic youths, who are green, but nonetheless great shots. In Glory Company, you have Badass Platoon. All are former criminals and members of terroristic groups, and all have now pledged to Sir Robin himself due to various reasons. Robin Squad, is made up of 10 men, led by Robin himself. These men do the dirtiest work, kill the most enemies idiot enough to come close, see the worst things, and always come home.
But will they be enough to defeat the Romans when it counts?
This is just a piece of narrative to hint at our future actions. Read it and feel true fear. The Royal Army is rising from its grave, better than ever before. And this is not quality writing, just a quick type up.
