Is it snowing?

Yes, we have snow, but I live in Michigan so it's expected. Hell, the Good Lord in his infinite wisdom shaped our state like a mitten so we'd remember to wear them. :)

He must not your lot's minds in very high esteem.

Well, apparently he puts fossils in the ground to trick us and test our faiths, so yeah... clearly he doesn't think too highly of us, given these petty little manipulations.

But yes, snow. We have it. Not as much of it as one might expect, living on a glacial peninula surrounded by the largest inland freshwater seas on the planet. January will likely be worse, much worse. Hopefully not the 20+ inches the the northeastern US is getting right now, though.

It doesn't usually snow a great deal here. I don't know the precise scientific explaination as to why, but I know in Buffalo where they're wedged between two lakes they get tons more than we do. I guess they get most of our snow. Losers :p

We're expected to get 20 inches. I hate New York State for its weather!!

Well, it could be worse. I could live in western New York State.

This weather has screwed me up a lot, grad school wise :(

It is pity that USA suffer from that, hope Europe will be saved this year from such snow storms. We had some, but not THAT big in Poland this year.

Fossil trickery isn't limited to the people of Michigan. I just meant he doesn't think highly of your state.

Locally it could have been a lot worse. There was only 2 inches or so on the parking lot. But the low ares that got drifts had it over 2 feet, and packed in hard in places.

What part of Michigan do you live in?

I know Australia doesn't snow much (Don't the Southern parts snow sometimes?) But I was saying, if it were gonna happen at all, it would be in July or August.

Is it rarer to snow where you are than in North Florida?

There was actually a few centimetres of of snow up in the Snowy Mountains a week or two ago. Deeply weird.

...

How is that even possible?

Snow like in that picture happens. Not so much here in Michigan anymore, but in the Dakotas I know it happens, and likely in central Canada.
