ITNES I - An Epoch of Change

Your tactics and strategy would've worked much better in the modern times. This, however, is the Medieval era; and as in OTL, though perhaps for different reasons, in Europe this means that cavalry reigns supreme.

This I suppose is why I disagree with you...yes Cavalry reigned Supreme, if they used their mobility, moreover they are fragile lacking the close formations of the Infantry, and being larger targets. Which is why I had my rearguard set to "Ambush" :p.

(My leader has the longest name ever! HAHA)

Actually I was thinking of lenghthening the title - he is, after all, also the konig of Norge and of Svearland. Some other titles may be added as well. ;)

So, das, what NPCs have promise?

Caledonia and Tiwanaku come to mind. For irony's sake, Ugria or Cernorus are also nice. Choson is tiny and boxed-in, but is fairly strong and prosperous for its size, not to mention one of the most advanced nations in the world.

EDIT:

if they used their mobility

Check. Not all that easy to limit it, except in the fortified border area that you had abandoned way too soon.

moreover they are fragile lacking the close formations of the Infantry

Your infantry was quite poor overall, and so was mostly easy to cut down, its close formations contributing to the panic.

But in any case, you tried to wage a war of maneuver with low-quality infantry against high-quality cavalry. That naturally invites disaster.

das Caledonia need to answer Gaul and me ^-^... Their still NPC...
btw need me to change color to?

to Upper Adena:
Treaties? Ok than.. let us talk... Also we hope for more trade among us.

to Nihon:
We are sorry about entering lands that are yours by treaty, do you mind resending us the maps of the treaty so we could retreat from your own lands?

to Sri Dukunnugeya
We are sorry to hear of this horrible war that have fallen upon your peaceful people. We wish you luck. Oh and don't mind Gauls slaughtering of your people, they seem to do it to anyone that is not like them...

to Phoenicia:
Would you like to claim Ayti?

to Wenedia:
We expect our payment to come quickly, thank you.

to The Dawn:
We shall move several more lands to you this year. Do remember to pay. Thank you.

to Nordike:
Wonderful victory. We admire your ability to wage wars on sea. Do speak with us on more private channels.

to DIE, Luca:
With Gaul destroying Punicia we can no longer expect any payment. (not that ourselves were suppose to receive any). What do you think of that?

to religious people in Nortugal:
You are free to believe in what you want. Our only problem with Solism lies in Gaul, and our only problem with solists in our own lands is that they swear aliegnce to their gods before their kingdom. Promise us that you would follow your king's words first and you shall be allowed to freely have your religion in the streets.

Nah holding the fortified area would be an invitation to disaster, the Gaulic force would have circled round and hit them in the rear.

Yes it is hard to limit the Cavalries manovrabiltiy[sp], which I why I ensured superiority of the land, to be able to hide and hit them first. And the infantry in that area wasn't poorly trained, they were "great"...:p

answer the PM :D

I'll take Caledonia, then.

From: The Gaelic Empire
To: Caledonia

We formally invite you to join us in the Pact of Invictus.

You'll have to tell me what this is. I haven't paid particularly close attention to stuff not involving me or my neighbors, to be honest.

Any other potentially relevant starter information would be helpful, too.

Pact of Invictus: Gaul, Iceni, Cimberland

it's an alliance of solists.

Truce and Trade Agreement (Nortugal, Caledonia: perpetual NAP, bilateral cessation of missionary activities, cessation of Nortuguese attacks on Caledonian commerce, trade agreement)

and thats the NAP I want to make sure still stands.

From: Phoenica
To: Nortugal

Yes of course, we can hardly object the Aytian call for help, can we?

OOC: I suggest that the Huanc change their colour. The connection between purple and phoenicia is too heavy. If not, I will have to ensure that the Tiwanakans win the war..

to Phoenicia:
Yes you can. Our treaties clearly states that Ayti is under our influence sphere. We would like something in return for allowing this entrance into our sphere of influence...

From DIE
To Nortugal:
We are of course unhappy with it, but the Punics have themselves to blame for it really.. they choce to fight and die rather than pay for their freedom.

Only reason he did it was the map on the peace thing that changed into war plans :p...

to DIE:
We guess so...

Shah Saraxeres I- Lived from 366 to 431, Reigned from 198 to 431

"The Shah is dead!"

So came the cries as the news reached Persepolis. Shah Saraxeres I had collapsed while on a trip in Arabia. Attempts to revive him failed. Court Physicians remain unsure, but most agree that it was a failure of the Shah's ailing body, not foul play on anyone's part.

His eldest son, Tirius, was quickly located (Traveling with the army, also in Arabia). He was informed of the situation and is currently traveling to the great city of Persepolis for his coronation.

Saraxeres will be remembered dearly by his people. He will be remembered for his military actions, as the vanquisher of the Israfanids, a peacekeeper of Egypt, uniter of Arabia, and defender of Ectabana and Persepolis during Parhae's darkest hours. He will be remembered as a loyal friend and an honourable enemy. A wise and kind domestic leader, an inspiring figure for the people.

Saraxeres was a clever and curious child, and a favourite of his father, Taraxes II, the reuniter of Parhae. As he grew up, he clearly showed a capacity for rule. Prior to his coronation, he traveled greatly through Israfanidia and Egypt, two nations which would play a great role in his future.

After the death of his father from advanced age, Saraxeres I took control of Parhae. For the first decade of his reign, he ruled capably, keeping the nation running smoothly and peacefully. However, this bliss was to soon end, with the invasions of Luca and Israfanidia coupled with a coup attempt by his half-brother Arades. Arades was defeated and executed, but it resulted in the fall of Western Parhae. Saraxeres led his nation to fight the two invaders to a standstill, managed to hammer out a lasting peace with Luca, then turned to the hate-filled Israfanids. He despaired at how some people could have their minds so twisted misled by their government, but nonetheless remained firm in his actions against the invaders. With the help of Berber Egypt, he defeated the Israfanids and helped to clear away the darkness of propaganda from the Jews, who are now a productive and loyal part of the Shahdom of Parhae.

Following the defeat of the Israfanids, another Egyptian civil war broke out. Saraxeres intervened on behalf of Kufu, enemy of Menes (slayer of the Berber Pharoah), but his actions were not enough to save them. Signing the Purple Sea Accords with Phonecia and the Egyptian successor-states, Saraxeres believed that he would at last reign in peace again.

But it would not happen.

For it was just a few years after the conclusion of the Egyptian Civil War that Aryavarta attacked Parhae's friend and close trading partner Dukunnugeya. Fearing the dramatic increase of strength the conquest of Eastern Africa would give Dukunnugeya, Saraxeres declared war on the aggressors and completed the conquest of Arabia.

He passed away in a tour of the recent acquisitions. Saraxeres shall be dearly remembered by all.

The Shah is dead! Long Live Shah Tirius I!

Just out of curiosity, how is Nortugal still "Small" size wise, while Iceni is "Medium" even though Nortugal is most likely 3 to 4 times the size of Iceni?

because it's not land size, it's population size. And Nortugal has one if not the smallest population in the world. Remember, only citizens of the kingdom counts as population. Those who can normally serve and work.
