ITNES I - An Epoch of Change

TO: Republic of Hong Kong, Ryusakid Nihon
FROM: Khmer Empire

We give formal notice to both Hong Kong and Nihon that at present we are interested in ceasing our administration of holdings in former Olmec lands. To that end, we are willing to turn over control of them to the highest bidder and place the starting price at 1EP.

From Huancac

I hope the auction is public and open to all nations. Huancac bids 1 EP.

We were not anticipating outside demand, but will welcome it just as well. The current bid stands at 1EP.

Sorry, because of circumstances out of my control that have nothing to do with this game, I am going to have to resign as Iceni.

I hope you sent my brilliant peace deal to your allies!

Realistic? That was realistic, it rectified the reasons Nordrike went to war, the only way it would be more acceptable is if Nortugal was consulted and imparted its own terms. Perhaps Wenedia too although they are not fighting, I would imagine they would have some interest in the precedings.

What I desire for peace? Here are the terms for peace.

1: Caledonia and Iceni are to leave the Pact of Invictus
2: the MPP between Iceni and Gaul is null and void.
3: Alban Cooperation Treaty is to be torn up.
4: The High King of Caledonia is to permanently reside within the city of Vikborg, I am to be consulted about any decisions regarding Caledonian foriegn and domestic policy, I can modify Caledonian policies at my will.
5: Caledonia, Iceni and Cyrmu are to convert to Tarunism and they must recognise the religious authority of the Holy Emperor of the Western Tarunist Church (IE me)
6: Iceni empire and the Gaelic empire shall pay 1 economic point in tribute every (turn).
7: The Alban states shall not possess a single military ship for 100 years, Gaelic Empire shall not possess a single military ship for 200 years.

I have been gracious today, this treaty will bring peace and prosperity to the north.

From my point of view, it isn't very realistic.

In fact, it's grounds for the Lord-Pontiff to declare a Soliade on Nortugal and Nordrike.

Considering we are already at war that means nothing, I doubt their is much difference between war and a Soliade.
But at least when it fails you will realise your folly of worshipping a tool of the Gods.

OOC: :rotfl: Oh my, oh my...

ok, whats the state of Iceni? I would like to take them, and not quit as them as has been my habit recently...(I hate school  )

Needless to say, my problems in RL have been swiftly dealt with :D

You're under effective siege (none of the allies have any ships) and Nordrike has been going a-viking on your coastline of late.

That's the short version. PM me for more details.

OOC: Sorry for being absent, I was celebrating christmas / new year. But now I am backer than ever! :)

IC:
From Dacoillyria
To Nortugal:
Our embargo was based on you acting against the member nations of the (upcoming) trading league. We do not want war with you, but if you would attack against the pillars, know that there will be quite a large navy waiting for you who are well prepared to defend themselves.

To Gaelic Empire:
Actually we don't think it would be a bad idea! However the Lucans seem to object, as well as some nations outside of Mediterranean, so I think we will have to forget or at least postpone this idea for now.

to Dacia:
Luca decleared war, we didn't. If any fighting would come to happen it will be for their war decleration.

And now, at last, the..

Mediterranean Trading League

1. The League is created to develope and increase trading in the area of the two seas and to make it more efficient, as well as to strenghten the already existing trade network.

2. Member nations (for now) will include Dacoillyrian Empire, Gaelic Empire, Cimberland, and the Pervashid Empire of Luca.

3. The member nations are to strenghten the Two-Sea area trading through lowering customs and giving minor tax releafs to those merchants willing to concentrate their trading on the Mediterranean trade network.

4. All member nations agree to tie the developement of their currency into the developement of the price of gold. The reason for this is to make it easy for merchants to exchange currency, as whatever changes happen in economic developement will happen to all member nations. As money exchange becomes easier through this, we expect the trading in the area to grow as well. This should also ensure that if a singular member nation would face economic problems, they will suffer only minor economic damage as long as they are tied down to the trade network of the Mediterranean.

5. In order to make the Mediterranean a valuable area of commerce, all non-Mediterranean nations are to benefit from the League as well, to ensure their willingness to continue trading in the area. Therefore, these benefits of trade will also be given to those non-Mediterranean nations that enter the Mediterranean trading network through a port of a member nation.

6. Member nations agree to form a Mediterranean-wide trade embargo against any non-Mediterranean nation that is at war with a member nation of the league (eg Nortugal at the moment).

OOC: Did I forget something? Contact me if I did, or if you want to change something!

Also, member nations, what do you think of the last article? I added it so this League would have at least a little political power even though it isn't getting its own navy force; I'm sure at least some nations will think twice before attacking (one of) us if they know they'll face economic damage.
