ITNES I - An Epoch of Change

TO: Sindhu Nobility
FROM: Khmer Empire

Surrender--now, and unconditionally--and perhaps we will yet spare your pathetic lives; which is vastly more than you will receive otherwise.

It was a grim day in Hibernia. When the damned ships sailed to the land, broken their way in and slaughtered all seen. They called themselves people of light yet all they brought was darkness, darkness to the people of Nortugal. After the fall of Nord Lisbon not even one man stayed in his home peacefully. They all have risen in rebellion, all joined forces. For they knew, if the Solist will continue the Nortuguese will not be allowed a day of peace. Their own lives and believes will be taken away from them, and all the knowledge they have brought the world will be burned and ended. In his new chamber in northern Hibernia, Erezius knew this. Vast armies now stood upon his lands, his people's lands. They came to burn and destroy, and eliminate the Nortuguese from existence. And he could not allow that to come. The island of Hibernia was for a hundred years and more the home of his people, he could not allow another home to be taken, to be burned and destroyed. Not in his time will the Nortuguese suffer such a pain again. He had to repeal this invasion of his lands, and rebuild his homelands, his palace, his people's lives.

He had the upper hand. The armies of Nortugal were larger, stronger and more trained than the Solists. It's navy was still one of the greatest of the world. But Nord Lisbon. Another siege and it would be broken into bites and pieces. Loosing the Solists would never allow the beautiful site of knowledge to survive. The city would be burned into ashes, together with all Nortuguese living inside of it. How could he stop such a thing from occurring? In order to save it, he would have to take it first, and do it quickly. To do this he would have to go through the newly built Solist navy. A large one, larger than he could imagined would come. He had the navy to do so, but he was not sure if he had the time to save Nord Lisbon. Already it begun to burn, and soon it will become but ash.

to the people of Nortugal:
Those who have landed are no people of light. They are not people of knowledge, of truth. They are the destroyers, those who have came to kill every single one of us if he won't become one of theirs. They came to destroy us, our culture, our lives, our heritage. Darkness have risen over the lands of Nortugal, darkness over the lands. We cannot allow this. I call every single man and woman who can take up arms to take them, and rise to the defense of Hibernia! Rise to defend our homes! Yes I have a mistake in the past few years, and calculated our main enemies wrong, left you undefended. Yet you fought like lions, like gods fight to hold back this invasion of our homes. In the past few years we have created many new colonies for our people to live in for we feared this day. And this day come. Like demons from the sea the Solists came and burned half of our homelands. We always knew they wishes us to die, and the proof lies in our burned homes. Rise your weapons for they will not allow you a second chance. Like the ancient Carthaganians emptied Portugal from population so will the Solists will do to Hibernia. And we cannot let it happen again, for our future is bright, and forever will be. Rise Nortuguese! Rise for your day of glory is coming!

to Solist scum:
You have won once, but we promise you that such a Solist victory will not come again. Your homelands will burn like you burned ours and your people will soon know the truth of Sol, once we burn Sol temple in Gaul. Do not think we have forgot of your own homelands, for they will burn like our does. prepare to be defeated.

true, it's about 10 thousand soldiers and to answer Kal'thzars question, quite long i quess, i learned about his spies some 3-4 turns ago.
That's odd, I never commissioned any spies. Never received reports from them either.

Great update das!

@andis-1- I intentionally kept the story unconfirming. That could have been the Thar Desert as well.

"Now we understand the Nortuguese are not human. Now the word 'Nortuguese' has become the most terrible curse. Let us not speak. Let us not be indignant. Let us kill. If you do not kill a Nortuguese, a Nortuguese will kill you. He will carry away your family, and torture them in his damned Nortugal. If you have killed one Nortuguese, kill another."

Not that I agree with it of course... :mischief: But a bonus would be nice. ;)

OOC:

Nice one ;). If somebody guesses my 'influence' for Flames over Byblos, he might get a bonus, too!

The Dacoillyrian decision to deploy a huge army in the middle of the Sahara had naturally resulted in huge casualties to desert heat and simple supply problems, but this deployment did pay off in a way when a major Bebrer raid/invasion from the Wagadou territory was crushed. The paranoid, trigger-happy Dacoillyrians almost started a war with Wagadou at this point, but cooler heads prevailed, whilst the Wagadou government naturally denied all and any connection (and no proof to the counterwise was yet produced). Still, the situation remains tense.

(-12 Dacoillyrian thousands)
Actually the 70 thousand soldier were already stationed there, have been for a couble of updates now. What I ment in my orders was to continue the troop positions in the area as they had been so far ;)

Otherweise, it was an awesome update!

The Ghana would like to offically deney all knowledge and involvement on the Berber raid on your territory. The Berber tribes are not all under our control. Indeed a mere 30,000 Berbers serve our military currently. The rest remain outside our control in tribes. The raid was undoubdly an independent action by a Berber tribe that resides in our territory which we cannot be held responsible for. Of course we attempt to prevent such incidents however the Sahara is a vast swathe of land which cannot be effectively policied as you must understand. We will endevor to prevent such incidents in the future, however it will be difficult as the Berber tribes particularly those on our border regions appear to be getting restless. You will not that the Berber tribes have raided into Lucan territory as well. We hope this unfourtnate incident will not damage our realtions in any way, as it is readily apparent we had nothing to do with it.

Maybe that's over the last few decades. And maybe there was no word of it because the people sent back to send the word were dehydrating partway back to the coast. Or the local commanders didn't want to be seen as needy whiners. :p

Where are you das! My questions need answers before I can start planning my victory.

May the righteous force win!

From Sri Dukunnugeya

This war of yours is damaging to trade and is a senseless loss of life, perhaps we would be able to assist you two in negociating a ceasefire and peace treaty?

Great update as usual das, just one question, shouldn't my project be completed? It was 1/3 last turn, and i put an eco point into it to speed it up, in addition to normal process on it. Just a couple of mistakes, but its fine.

according to the stats I have 2 econ banked? is that a hold-over from last turn or is it true?
