since Meli is not around atm, and swiftsure is 'begging to come back', why not let him "get it" now? Speeds up the game!
Maybe this is a fine idea anyway: When someone posts his save, also post a 'next please'. From the first 3 in line, the first poster gets it.

As for the speed of the game...If it goes any faster then you arew gonna have to leave out people like me who has a job and can't play all day. (@Killer - well not every day

@Stapel: The German settler/spear pairs are being followed around every turn by horses, some fortified, some not. We're still at war with Rome, as Caesar has nothing worth giving us, and reverse WW (I think he declared on us, right?) = increased happiness. He'll make peace for free, but unless he lands legions on our continent, it's probably best to keep the reverse WW effect going. We only have one luxury, and we're still a ways off from cathedrals.

Yes the Romans declared war on us (me). AFAIK they cannot reach our island, so we do not have to fear their legions.
Didn't think about reverse WW (me is the builder type), but it sounds very good!

We might even try to take towns from them later on with Cavalry to establish a bridgehead, then sign peace, arm up, then take us a second continent (another reason why I placed the FP where it is).....

Sorry for the delay but i'm having to post from work and from memory since i left my notes at home so i'm afraid its a very basic report.. i've played to 500ad to round the years off to a round figure.
Inherited turn, we had three entertainers which could be turned into taxmen without affecting happiness.
430ad - 490ad zzzzzz, generally all i was doing was normal worker actions when any of the builds were complete i started workers as i feel we need many more to clear jungles etc. i checked each turn but still couldnt build a new city.
The only decision to be made was what to do with bizzie when our peace expired. in the end i decided to let him be, he had three gallies buzzing around which might mean he gets a contact before us and what we really need are more contacts.
500ad we discover currency and enter the middle ages. the next decision is what tech to go for now. in the end i plump for engineering if only for the reason that the ai doesnt often prioritise it. As no research has been done feel free to change it.

As bizzy will NOT cross the sea / ocean before nav / mag, I think he should be finished of now. He will not get any contacts before we do.
I am also pretty sure we will be able to find land when risking a few galleys. Do we consider this an exploit? This also makes me think we could minimize research: we will be in contact with other civs soon and TGLib will teach us! Researching a AI-disliked-tech is ok too I think.

Stapel, suicide galleys are perfectly OK in my book. And we make so much money that we just as well may research ourselves. But of course we should avoid education as long as possible.

I do not think suicide Galley are an exploit, just because the AI doesn't use them. They know about lands we do not.......
