K8: MONSTER MAP - 362x362 map with 24 civs

OK, setting the game up, I decided that I want an industrious civ, and preferably one with Pottery for the start, as we WILL HIT THE 512 CITY limit soon!!!!!!!

it is only 16 cities per civ!

what do you all think?

So we HAVE to expand asap at all cost? Sounds like fun...

Did you guys get enough people? If not count me in for Emperor or Diety, the huge map will give me a chance to test out the processing power of my new PC :)

Definately industrious, my pref would be for the ottomans although i dont think we would get pottery with them it would give us a very nice mobile mid age UU.

Aggie: no sweat, i will need until tomorrow at least, then you can be third...

I will also post SG rules with the game.

I hope you will not hate me for it, but i choose Spain!

reasons: religious is fast, cheap Temples that we will need for happiness, and they have the Alphabet as start towards Great library. Commercial is good because of low corruption, remember, we will be sread out.

I decided to accpet the weak UU because I am going to set our strating pos in the editor so we will not spend a lot of time only to find we are stuck in a ****ty island. Also, pillaging of the sparse resources can become very important (it did in all my 3 test games)

Started yet? I'm a regent/monarch player, but I could try emperor. Although, huge maps might be slow on my system, but I can still handle it.

Turn 0 - 3000BC

Hey, not too bad on the load time. I guess this Pentium3, 667Mhz, 384megs RAM DOES have some life still in it after all! ;) Ohhh... greenery... what's that? Those luscious green hills, grasslands and cattle look nice (yeah, I know - there's a foot of snow on the ground already in Baltimore with another foot on the way. :p The frozen tundra graphics pack would do just fine right about now...) I played a game like this once (but tons of cattle on plains and a smaller map) and CREAMED the AI. Looks like a fun game coming up! Not much else to do. Looks like those hillls and cattle would be nice for our 3rd city.

Turn 1 - 2950BC

Not much to report

Turn 2 - 2900BC

Settler done in 1 turn - it only needs one shield, so I micromanage a little and put the one cattle tile onto the gold mountain. Pottery in 4 instead of 5.

Turn 3 - 2850BC

Settler's done, and I'm gonna protect it just in case there's barbs running around.

Turn 4 - 2800BC

Warrior built, worker moves to Barcelona.

Turn 5 - 2750BC

Settler almost in position, nothing major to report.

Turn 6 - 2700BC

Settler in posistion, Pottery in 1. Lowered science to 50%. Wow, I just noticed the increased scientific research times! Looks like a megamap mod I started making the other day. I don't think there's a real for the pyramids (masonry), only an average of 16 cities per civ. Not to mention we have all these cattle! Mobility might be the key here, so looks like The Wheel is next, but it's EXPENSIVE!! But, I think we could shoot to Lit. after this. My thinking is, we can best use TGL if we meet a lot of civs quickly, and we'll need horses as scouts.

Turn 7 - 2670BC

We get pottery! The Wheel is next. Seville is built. I'd REALLY like to put that Seville tile on the gold hills (The Wheel in 25 vs. 36 turns), but we need to expand first.

Turn 8 - 2630BC

Hmm, these turns are starting to look a bit nostalgic. Civ2 style years! I do move the Barcelona cattle tile to the bonus grassland, as I don't want to to get too large too quick.

Turn 9 - 2590BC

I notice Madrid's build is a little off, so I micromanage a bit to get it 4growth/4for the settler. I decide to move the Seville tile to the gold hill to compensate for the loss in research.

Turn 10 - 2550BC

nothing of major improtance. The Wheel in 25 turns.

2550BC

Here's the dot map where I think the next cities should go. The one location did have an overlap (if we don't want an overlap, I'd suggest moving it one NE, as the diagram shows).

So, with 31 civs, who are the extra 7 civs?

I could edit Killer's post, but I'll let him do it. ;) It's at the top - looks like Borealis is up next.

I was wondering about the extra.
Did you copy 7 originals?
P.S. I think this can be done without PTW too. Let me test it.
