Latest threat to America is *spins dradle*

Whats this journalist thinking driving her kids around like that and not charging them for gas money?

This lemonade stand will put other lemonade stands out of business and is a threat to the economic liberty of all lemonade stand owners as soon it will be the only one left. Then these girls will get to decide everything about your lemonade and know what kind you like to drink; and they may even end up pressuring elderly people into picking a certain lemonade. We must all stand up to this thirst panel now if we want America to remain truly free, and even if we can't stop it, we will at least go down in history as defenders of liberty. This is about principle after all.

This Savage person is really a good entertainer! But really, who could take this crazy person serious? Yelling at a couple girls for giving away lemonade? Am i missing something? Besides, what does she thinks shes doing, putting a story on someone's website for all to read for free?!

I see communists....everywhere......in my sleep....on the street.....in my house....on my boat.

Did you look in the mirror Karalysia?

"That's not the spirit of giving. You can only really give when you give something you own. They're giving away their parents' things -- the lemonade, cups, candy. It's not theirs to give."
I think their parents gave it to them to give away dear. :)

I don't know who this Terry Savage person is, but it's clear to me she need to get laid.

I'm not sure I'd want to tap this.

Oh I'm sure she's running a tab.

She will present it to her kids when they turn eighteen, and a repayment plan. I don't know if she will charge interest though.:hmm:

I use 1/2 prime. It's a fudge, but the kids didn't voluntarily enter the arrangement.
OTOH, there's *some* interest charged because I'm in the same boat: I had the reasonable expectation that they would they be both smarter and cuter than they actually are.

She made a smart argument which the kids would have done well to listen to.

No she's a goof who is trying to argue with children about economics.

She makes the right point, but blames the wrong people; who are these parents that are giving their children lemonade and candy to just give away? That ruins the spirit of the lemonade stand... the whole point is to have kids feel like they're accomplishing something and to reward them for being "entrepreneurial."

I suppose if you've got enough money to hire a nanny, you've got more important things to do than raise your kids right. :crazyeye:

For all you know this was some sort of a school assignment where kids were asked to be unselfish and attempt to make the community (or a group of people) better by being charitable. The exercise of the assignment might have been to observe the reactions of the people involved.

And hey, as long as we are talking about giving things away for free, why is the author running a FREEWARE web server? Surely that goes against the ideals she so vehemently complains about in her article. Not only that, why was this article available for free? If she's so opposed to things being given out for free, she should actually listen to her own advice and 1. stop using free products and services 2. charge for her own.

Nah man, she's a douchebag hypocrite who had nothing better to whine about. I suspect she likely has some sand particles stuck in her labia minora.

And why didn't she offer to buy the lemonade stand? This would have taught the kids that if they put in the effort to establish a prime position in the market, they can be rewarded by being bought out at a premium. This lady failed as a teacher.

If these kids were true capitalists they would have hired immigrant kids to do the work for them for .01% of the proceeds (or a few dollars off their rent in the shed out back) instead of sitting out there themselves in the hot sun. :shake:

Is it possible for the benefits not to be material wealth? In a different thread you told me that life is more than pursuit of material wealth. So, these kids had extra money. They decided to make the community a happier place through charity. This was charity, I don't see a problem. Or perhaps their profits were wanting to see people happy, instead they got crazy-lady yelling at them for not imitating Ebenezer Scrooge.

I thought ultra-right types were big fans of private charity.

Naw these are the same people that mistaken Jesus with Supply Side Jesus
