Lazy College Days And The Slackers That Live Them!

What the heck day is "R" supposed to be? I only know of S M T W Th F S.

It's the one-letter abbreviation of Thursday.

edit: mostly seen when registering for classes

Yeah, they started using R for Thursday because they wanted single letters for each day of the week for computer coding reasons. I have also seen some weekend schedules that use S for Saturday and U for Sunday, although I don't know if that is as standardized as the R for Thursday (given how rare it is to schedule stuff on the weekends).

Don't waste your college days. I wish I did more stuff when I was an undergrad and could get away with it.

What, you can't get away with stuff as a grad student?

I could and have gotten away with some stuff like 3-day weekend vacays to New York and DC but it's an issue of time now--I'm working way harder than I did as an undergrad to finish the thesis before the funding expires, managing my undergrad researcher, and trying to find a job simultaneously. And there's also a bit of a rant there because a bridge with one of my committee members who is also on the project funding is currently ablaze, long story.

I suppose I've devoted considerable time to exercise, that's also a time-sink that has grown.

Should have endorsed Christie...

Heh. Too bad this guy's plan simultaneously adds at least a year's worth of work and runs into some pretty serious technical problems that I don't think can be solved. I would ignore this dude in a heartbeat if he wasn't also on the committee.

Enjoy your time. And I mean really enjoy it.

Also grades don't matter as long as it is a C+ or above, for the most part. Research or internships/coops matter a lot more.

There will be the mystery phase of how to get an internship/coop since such applications will get denied if you haven't had previous internships/coops, but I wish I could tell you an answer to that.
