LINESII- Into the Darkness

Which ships Chip? Cannon fire was hard enough to sink ships how do you expect a catapult to sink one in 2 hits. Maybe if you were lucky that would happen

darken that treaty is a bunch of crap, Nurmafer has nothing to do with this war anymore so next READ the updates please, you will see that they have completely left those lands

Gorin refuses to sign the treaty proposed by Davar
The Lord Kaiser is in favor of the treaty proposed by the pacisfists in Veritas.

I think everyone is in favor of the pacifist treaty, right?

Triremes, Biremes, Quinremes. Cannons what to compete with more modern and better constructed ships. i doubt anyone here has even done the OTL version the Aristolte's studies in Ship boyuncy. Catapults were for taking out rowers, but a hit in the same spot twice could very well sink a ship. These ships weren't tall. Story coming

Ok Ken, before you try to make me look stupid, think first.

My "facts". Try to follow along if you can.

1.Khermi invades Nurmafer and gets this whole bloody mess started. Out of fear of their growing power, too.
2. Nurmafer asks Veritas for help. Veritas decides to help, maybe out of fear of Khermi's growing power. They attack.
3. Khermi's allies, Shalamari and Gorin declare war out of an alliance.
4.) Nurmafer and Veritas initally manage to fight through Khermi. Mainly from Kal's inactivity or through surprise. Whichever floats your boat.
5.) Gorin and Shalamari show up. Nurmafer runs. Emor abadons the cause. Veritas is pushed back from sheer numbers,
6.) Out of an alliance, I declare war. Altrough not really having anything to do with the fighting yet.
7.)Veritas burns two Khermian capitals and promises to assist in rebuilding them if peace is asserted.
8.) Shalamari, altrough asking for peace, betrays Veritas's trust and the beginning of defeat for Veritas begins.
9.) Veritas raizes yet another city.
10.) Major peace operations began to take form in every nation, with most nations being tired of fighting.

So am I stll a load of crap, or is it just my imagination?

Anyways I'll support any treaty that is fair and objective.

Swade Fire?

Wilipo was surveying a town just to the north of the capital. It was in the shadow of Vio, the dormant volcano, the only one in the Swade Range. He was meeting with its Lord-Mayor. They were speaking of boring things, politics, quotas, growth. Wilipo was only half listening. A genius intellect such as his needed not pay attention to all the trivialities in this world. But then they walked by a part of town completely ashen and burned down. This interested Wilipo and he stopped.

Turning to the Lord-Mayor he inquired, "What happened here?"

"Well sir," the Mayor replied, "There was a fire here that couldn't be put out. it spread and spread and spread."

"You did try to douse the flames with water, correct?"

"Oh of course."

"And you tried to suffocate it?"

"Yes, yes."

This mysterious fire interested Wilipo greatly. Any mystery he ran across had to be solved. He turned into the burnt down part.

"Where did this fire start?"

"Well, over there at the Limekiln. The Mason said he was making mortar and boom, the flames got bigger and bigger. he tried to put them out, but he couldn't."

"Was he using anything different? Anything he didn't usually use?"

"He says he ran out of wood and borrowed some from the Gri'nlies. They said they had wood from the Niser Tree."

Wilipo walked over to the limekiln. He examined the Limekiln. There ws a hole in the wooden floor.

"Whats down here?"

The mayor looked over, "Oh, part of the limekiln was built over the grotto."

Wilipo jumped down the hole, the mayor was horrified. Wilipo looked around. It was dark and dank and smelled of rotten eggs. He coughed, and looked over to the spot the sunlights rays hit. There were outcroppings of a yellow substance on the walls. On the ground there were solidified croppings of quicklime, and from the ceiling hung niter. Wilipo took large samples of all three things and stowed them in his bag. He climbed out of the Grotto and turned to the Mayor.

"I should be getting back now.."
---------------------------------------------------

Wilipo stood staring at it in frustration. It should be working right now. Hard as he tried he could not recreate the Unquenchable Fire. He tried everything. He stacked the Quicklime on the Wood and then mixed the sulfur and niter. He tried not mixing them. He tried adding one later, or one earlier. He tried everything, ever combination. But everytime he put it in the water container, it went out. He was so frustrated. Everything had always come easy to Wilipo. Art, war, governing, they were all easy. But this, this. He could command 1,000's of men, rule hundreds of thousands of people, thousands of miles of land, and he couldn't make FIRE!.

In an anger he grabbed the Niser wood and hurled it at the wall. He yelled and clenched his hand in a fist. When he opened it though, it was sticky. It was sticky, IT WAS STICKY. He stared at his hand in glee.

"OF COURSE," he exclaimed, "it wasn't the wood, it was the woods Resin!"

He set to work extracting enough resin.
---------------------------------------

The time finally came to test out his new invention. This invention would revolutionize warfare. He had gathered a crowd, that stood in silence. He mixed the quicklime, sulfur, niter and resin together, and lit them. The people stood in silence. He had brought them here to see him make fire. He met their skeptical gazes with a cocky stare. He walked over to a small pond that the crowd was ina a semi-cirle around. He plunged it into the pond, and it didn't go out.

He looked up, and in his most kingly voice he declared, "I GIVE YOPU SWADE FIRE!!!!"

The crowd was awed. Then they cheered.

OOC: I did a lotta research for this, that is one of the better possible formula's for greek fire

*sigh* More stories of how people invent new weapons through well devised accidents...

It was not an accident it was inspiration, like that guy in the bath-tub who invented something and yelled "eureka"

Everything needs inspiration, nobodys like

"Here's a thought, the lightbulb. Get to it!"

I'm tired of writing my story, so I'm gonna do a quick reference section.

Davar

Davar: A quick history.
- Founded in the early part of the ninth century, Davar's history so far has been a short and bloody one. The country was first united in 815, by the young Kali Tanil. The founding of the monarchy was essential to Davar's survival, as within the following century the Eldranians quickly came to end the young nation.

Having won the critical first battle of Boro, the nation's small army was able to assault the Eldranians from the east. With the help of the Veritisains, Tristarians, and Nkondi, they were able to defeat the "endless menace."

The next century would have the country experience unparalleled growth. Shooting both east and north, the country nearly tripled in size. Cities along the Lunx river quickly developed into major centers of trade, and much of the country's wealth began to flow out.

However, after that century the empire collapsed. The last Kali, Juel, passed away unexpectedly without an heir. With no clear ruler, the country disintegrated into an eight-year civil war. The second highest general, the Dineil, led a force of smaller, conquered generals against a coalition of the highest and third highest generals, the Moneil and Trineil. At the critical battle of Bant, the Dineil's forces were routed by a surprise attack from the Moneil and superb tactics by the Trineil. Official records weren't kept, but around some ten thousand peasants and men died in the civil war.

Following the civil war, a new government was needed. The Moneil, Joel Ignus, was a follower of the Veritasian style of government and decided to give it try. The country was divided into thirteen provinces and the First Republic was declared.

After an alliance was set up with Veritas and Tristaria, crisis broke out in Davar. Both Veritas and Tristaria developed into full-fledged wars and both required assistance. So in the following years a campaign was undertaken by both war "hawks" and peace "doves" took place to decide the country's role in these conflicts. The result was a declaration of war against Gorin, Shalamari, Khermi, and Gerber.

Working a strategy out with the top Veritasian command, the Davian forces were order to aid Tristaria first. Then Veritas. The troops were quickly organized and sent through the northern mountains to attack Gerber. The result was astounding. Crushing the Gerbers with numbers and surprise, the entire Gerber host was driven out of Tristaria and back across the Kalmar river.

With peace movements breaking out across the continent, the fate of Davar is unsure. The country, for the record, supports the pacifist treaty with dealing with the western nations, but not much was mentioned on the Gerber war.

Government

The country is divided into thirteen provinces, each headed by an elected governer. Each province elects one man to represent them in the national council, which elects the Elector and determines the internal policy.

@Darkening: The betrayal was an agreement made by the entire CRA. I know you hate me, but don't go Dan Brown on us. Your "facts" leave out a good bit of the truth. ;)

I will be posting a peace proposal in a few hours time...

Anyways I'll support any treaty that is fair and objective.

You have to reaslise that if their is a victor, fair is not generally going to come into the equation. Moderate in what they take yes, but not really considered fair, especially by the losers.

We propose the following, fair treaty.

First Treaty of Dava

Article One - All sides are to immdealy cease fighting and return to their respective borders.

Article Two - A 125 year ( 5 turns) NAP will be mandattory for all members involved.

Article Three - Khermi will issue an aplogy to Nurmafer and agree to the borders between them. Also, the NAP will be place between the said countries. Khermi would also give Nurmafer money for war damges totalling, and not any less than, enoguh to equal one eco point.

Article Four - Veritas will also issue an apology to Khermi for instutaing war and agree to the borders set between them. Veritas will pay around two economy point for damages inflicted upon Khermi.

Article Five - Gorin and Shalamari will agree to the borders et up, and no payments will be issued ot them. As they choose to get involved, they have to right to cry for payment of "damages" they suffered.

Article Six - Gerber will issue an apology to Tristaria and cede all lands east of the Kalmar river. Lands controlled by Tristaria will be added into their nation, and we will set about creating an independant east Gerber. Geber will pay one economy point to Tristaria for damages inflicted.

Article Seven - All nations will respect the religous rights of any minority living within their borders.

Articel Eight - A vote will ocur in Mogulia to decide if they wish to remain part of Veritas, become a part of Khermi, or return to an independant nation.

Article Nine - Going back to the Gerber lands, we propose the following. In the red will be the new Republic of Gerbi. It will be headed by a council and the nation will have no army but will be defended by the Davian army.

Here is the Shalamari response to the Treaty of Dava.

1: Naturally.

2: We instead propose a 200 year NAP.

3: Whatever. But the eco should be paid.

4: The Veritasians should instead help rebuild the cities they have razed. This to hasten reconcilation and rebuilding relations. The peoples have been fed with vile lies about their respective enemies for far too long.

5: Agreed.

6: This does not concern us. We do however support the formation of a republic, either in Gerber proper, or the independent Gerbi.

7: We do not need this reminder. Others should be more wary about this.

8: Mogul should be split in two along the Wardash river, as per the Veritasian peace process suggestion.

9: Whatever.

Oh, and Iggy.....

I had mistaken Shard for being Glass. Can you change the two? Just call out the polar bears again. After all, this is the second time there's some screw up with my capital. ;)

EDIT: I'll even do a regional description of Shalamari when you've finished. For far too long have I not written stories. But I had exams and stuff, so I don't feel entirely guilty. :p

Pretty much, but I don't believe that Nurmafer specifically asked for help. I could be overlooking something, ofcourse.

Why don't you be an established nation or something? Nkondi's open, and they have a small Zibonese population.

Sure. Actually, if the late Stratikrator Cendrian had more forces at his disposal and was more of a reckless opportunist, he would have attacked your lightly defended capital, which would have likely been more successful than his assault on the far larger Crystal Alliance Army.

Iggy, what about the other fortifications?
You have to pay for them. Although a heavily militarized area can sometimes become fortified without eco payment.

tp to the various barbarians:
Langels you say? We are not afraid of no Langels like any of you. We will allow your tribes to join our growing barbarian empire and you in return will join the great armies of the gods. Under our leadership those so called Langels will become nothing but ash. The Gods of the Mougot will never fail. Any tribe that will choose to not join for the comon cause will be considered a Langel ally. Please do not make a mistake. Destruction to our foes, prossperity to our believers.

Iggy when are you going to update stats?
