Medieval European Mod II 2016-10-05

Or maybe that gold can just stay there to temp :drool: people to their deaths? And make you wish you that you could just reach those unattainable riches. :lol: The one disadvantage of course is that with the appearance factor there'd be less gold to go around but that adds to the randomness of games no? :)

Hello. Although i am here as an observer since 2003, this is just my second post. And this post is to congratulate your guys. This MOD is really incredible! I enjoyed playing it and the scenarios for hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours... And even learned a little more about medieval history. Great Job!

The smaller the map, the fewer civs allowed. The most civs you can have is 31. This is hard-coded. Teturkhan claimed to have found a way to mod more than 31 civs, but he disappeared again months ago & never released his update.

You did not understood me ;) On a small map we have 20 civilizations and I want to play with 31 - how to do it? I'm adding civilizations, i'm giving new starting positions and than i'm saving - and here is the problem: the file had 407kb and after my modifications has 52 kb..... What's wrong? :rolleyes:

Also I want to make units more expensive - the same problem after saving....
Could someone help me? ;)

perhaps you could post the biq so we could take a look at it. Remember when adding civs to go to scenario properties (white flag button) and make each civ playable.

Again, I don't think the editor will allow 31 civs on a small map. You have to use a larger map to place 31 civs.

I have no idea why your file size would get smaller after adding things to it. Very odd.

EDIT: It just occurred to me that we are threadjacking. You should post those questions in the Creation & Customization forum.

Sorry, OP.

@all
Sorry for the delay and no update, RL stuff and all. Will happen, eventually :blush:

@Kalimakhus & Balbo
Thanks for your kind words :)

@Virote_Considon
You seem to have the old version, a newer one that fixed the Georgian Reconquista was uploaded a couple days after the release. However, at the moment it's not available since I haven't re-uploaded it yet...

I don't think the Gold is a problem - High Mountains are present only on the premade map, so I guess there's a chance that the Gold will move there - but it can also move out later ;) Although if the dummy resource idea can be done without a hassle, transparently, then I'll include it in the patch.

@marekkk223
First of all, I advise you DON'T don't play that map with 31 civs. The Small Europe map is already overcrowded compared to normal games. If you play it with 31 civs it'll be a complete mess. The AI expansion, diplomacy and research will be very imbalanced.

If you insist though, do not add the civs by hand, it's needlessly complicated. The short way to do it is quite simple. Open the small Europe map in the editor. Choose File -> Import... , check "Players" box, click OK and choose the Large Europe map BIQ. It will import 31 players from the big map into the small one. Then you just have to place the starting locations.

Do not worry about file size. I turned off compression in my editor so my BIQ files are bigger, and your editor just compresses them.

Unfortunately, the gold will not move out of the high Mountains, as it requires a road to do so :(

The dummy resource should work- it's just a bonus resource without an image (and with a "space" for its name)

By move out I meant the same as with moving in - that it'll disappear and reappear elsewhere ;)

I know- but it can't disappear without being roaded (and inside someone's territory, I think, although that is unimportant). Without a road on the tile, the resource will just sit there, waiting to be connected, so that it can then be "exhausted"...

I'm getting the "ERROR: File not found." When trying to download the "
11th century Conquest", Please correct it, since i don't play this mod without that :sad:

That file was lost when CFC was hacked. I'll upload the new version eventually, but it is not needed to play the mod, it's just a bonus scenario.

Someone please help, wheneer I try to open I get

I've unzipped everything like 5 times!

Thanks for the answer, but i know it's not really needed to play, it just that I personally don't play the mod without it :( - I really hate incorrected placed cities.
So, please, upload it soon.
Thanks from a fan, Balbo

It seems you're doing it wrong. Make sure you unzip the files *directly* into Conquests/Scenarios and NOT to a new folder. The latter is a common mistake that stops the mod from finding its folders.

How do you Directly unzip?

You put the folder called "MEM" into the scenarios folder, so it becomes Conquests/Scenarios/MEM.
