Have you ever made a poll on this forum?

Feel free to discuss the positive and negative sides of polling on discussion in the thread.

I have never made a poll in Off-Topic.

Where is the option for people who have made a poll, but regret their decision to do so?

I could not imagine anyone would ever regret creating a pol. Once a poller, always a poller, I say.

There's still no option for people who've never made a poll because they've never started a thread.

Really? I figured you would have made more than a few threads and at least one of them would have a poll.

I have fun making polls, especially trollish ones. Will likely continue to do so when the mood strikes me.

I have never made a thread in Off-Topic.

Outside of WH and NES, the only two threads I've ever made are both in A & E; one is a poll about Sherlock Holmes novels, and the other is the forum Skyfall thread, because I was on top of that news as soon as it came out.

Bizarrely, my third most successful thread ever, in terms of views, is a history article that I actually kind of hate nowadays, my brief piece on the civil war between Ioannes Kantakouzenos and Ioannes Palaiologos in the 1340s.

This thread is an example of how giving the "why's" take away from the meaning of the votes.

Alas, the finer aspects of humour cannot be understood by everybody

It's also a fine example of a cringeworthy attempt at humor in the poll options.

What is this humor you are talking about?

Sorry brody, just telling it like it is

You will regret later when this particular thread is recognized as one of my finest earlier literary works and your name is mocked and scorned worldwide

"At least he knew the 'j' was silent."

I've posted somewhere between 5 and 10 polls, but mine are really more surveys -- "How do you stay active" / "How do you 'do' spirituality?" are two I remember.)

A long long time ago I did.
