Michele Bachmann is a "Sarah Palin with a brain"?!?

Wait a second, you disparage liberal arts degrees, yet consider a communications degree to make someone "intelligent enough"?

If you can quote me on saying a liberal arts degree means someone is not intelligent then go for it.

Otherwise, get the context right.

I am not saying Palin is a genius. Heck no. But come on people, she's intelligent enough to apparently get a degree and be wildly successful in life. You may disagree with her policys and she may say something off the wall every now and then, but come on...of course she is 'intelligent' enough, and fwiw, certainly getting better at sharpening her public image and conduct. Some people seem to want to view intelligence as some kind of black and white thing - your either intelligent or your not, but thats not how it works.

Just cause someone believes in something or says things you dont agree with doesnt make them a moron.

So it would appear that Palin actually fails on all 3 grounds. But of course you deny it again as you usually do, even though you can't provide any actual "proof" as I can.

I dont count proof from hugely biased websites and opinion as valid no, and fwiw, I think your own bias is so ingrained that you have made it personal to you, and it renders you completely unable to give even a modicum of credit to anyone not subscribing to your own brand of politics. And yes, thats just my opinion.

If relabeling the Vanguard Party as the 'Happy Fun Party' is reconciling with Capitalism, then you are right. Until then, ID is simply a new name on a tired old idea that goes against all geology, biology, and archaeology that we know.

You mean Creationism? But ID isn't about creationism.

It's mostly religious people trying to make sure kids are taught evolution, but with a religious spin. Even though they'd kill to teach Creationism.

Why then should we be bringing God into a scientific discussion?

I wasn't arguing we should. God has no place in the institutions of the state, which is about the here and now and not the there and then.

ID is creationism dressed up in an attempt to avoid violating the establishment clause.

It is also a contemporary adaptation of the traditional teleological argument for the existence of God, but one which deliberately avoids specifying the nature or identity of the intelligent designer.[4] Its leading proponents—all of whom are associated with the Discovery Institute, a politically conservative think tank[n 1][5]—believe the designer to be the God of Christianity.[n 2][n 3]

Well yes, that's the intent, but it isn't a creationist idea in itself.

It merely prescribes that evolution wasn't blind and had a guiding hand.

It's a compromise since there's no way in Hell they'll get creationism into the schools.

In other words, you are going to simply ignore the preponderance of facts which corroborates that position while providing absolutely none to refute it, as usual.

I think your own bias is so ingrained that you have made it personal to you, and it renders you completely unable to give even a modicum of credit to anyone not subscribing to your own brand of politics.
Oh sweet irony! Continue to try to defend the indefensible without even trying to provide "proof" to support your wacky reactionary opinions.

And I do give "credit" to numerous conservatives and Repulicans. Just not the ones who are obviously not even close to being "lintelligent". As usual, your personal attack has no actual basis in fact.

Just like you chose to ignore the facts that I in turn offered...except mine werent from bias sources.

Again, I dont think it is unreasonable to admit that someone who gets a college degree, serves in various political offices, writes a couple of best seller books and by every definition is a success in life is 'intelligent' ........enough.

So now you actually thinks she writes her own books?

It is amazing she finds so much time to be completely clueless about politics, geography, the history of her own country, and how much courage it takes to stick with a prestigious job instead of running away like a little girl, when she is so busy meeting with her ghost writers.

I don't think there is anything about reactionary politics that you don't try to rationalize away without any actual proof. Yet you claim I am biased!

And one of those sites you claimed above was "biased" was Fox News! Even they think she is an idiot who is clearly unqualified.

Protip: Stop being condescending towards each other
Moderator Action: ^ Excellent advice, guys. I suggest you take it. And please get back on-topic. This is not a creationism vs. intelligent design vs. evolution thread.

Then why do you even think it is an issue in colleges? Do you really think you are that much better "educated", or otherwise different, than the average college student?

Only in comparison with those with liberal arts degrees.

If you read the thread from the beginning of that exchange it will show that you think a Liberal Arts degree is worth less than any other sort of college degree. Yet in this thread you purpose that a communications degree is a sufficient litmus to find someone as being "intelligent".

I don't know, you tell me if I've got the context right pops.

I think the Planned Parenthood attack is stupid but typical. They actually help to prevent abortions. I don't know what she means by a sex clinic.

I would say a lib arts degree an easier degree to get as opposed to a strong 'science' degree. I dont think thats a wildly outrageous point of view.

I would say anyone that takes the time, and gets a college degree, liberal arts or otherwise deserves to be called 'intelligent'.

And absolutely no where in the thread you link do I say someone with a lib arts degree is unintelligent. Do you admit that?

Fair enough, young'un?

Fair enough.

And what's that :roll eyes: for? I said pops as a term of endearment, not an insult :p You know I think you are awesome and add loads of entertainment to this forum. :goodjob:

Heh. Ok, I accept the 'pops' thing as a term of endearment.....but just wait till you hear it said to you someday......then you'll get why is kinda pisses you off.

That is...no one likes being reminded they are getting older. It is indeed a tough thing to accept some days, albeit necessary.

Alright bro, I am sorry. I get where your coming from. :)

Hitler comparisons, really?

It was the only comparison to accurately show how awful your previous statement was. If you don't like Hitler comparisons, don't go around being an apologist for creationism through the back door in future.

What in the name of all that is holy does anal sex have to do with creationism???
