I'm making an event for the Malakim when they enter the Mirror of Heaven, and have some questions as to what I should name a few things.

Gonna outline the event real quick:

1. Do nothing, allows you to come back later. Useful as Decius, if you do not have the required alignment yet.
2. Gain Heroic Lightbringer.
3. Gain special building, granting 'Strong' to all disciple units. Requires 'Good' alignment.

I need names for 2 buildings, a promotion, and a Hero. Right now, I've got:
  • Temple of the Mirror
  • Shrine of the Mirror
  • Nothing at all for the promotion.... Still called Strong.
  • Hermit of the Mirror

Are there any existing characters that would fit the hero? I'm looking for someone who would have gone to pray at the Mirror. Hopefully there won't be any lore contradicting anything in this event.

Here's a pic of the buildings... The yellow glow is animated, and shoots up the side of the pillar. Graphics are from Kohan 2, ripped by Walter Hawkwood.

Resplendent Folly*/minaret/tower * though I guess a folly is usually a tower that doesn't really serve a purpose
Fealty promotion?

Varn Gosam went to the Mirror of Heaven in one of the scenarios in the Decius line.

Varn's first eiphany was at the border of the Shadowed Vale, when a young Auric Ulvin broke the barrier down and allowed the sun to shine in at first. He became a follower of Lugus that day, but was not until after being taken in the the Malakim that he found the Mirror and received visions there that allowed him to create the dogmas of his faith and organize the lightbringers into a real religion.

Vaughn? never heard of him

Vaghan of Lugus is a great prophet and a paladin of the Empyrean who was killed by Abashi. I don't specifically know of anything tying him to the Malakim though.

I tend to think that Vaghan should have been an Empyrean hero, possibly a second one or possibly instead of Chalid. Or, perhaps Falamar should just have stumble across the remains of his failed expedition in The Black Tower.

Still need a promotion name, I'd like something religious sounding... Any complaints with my proposed names?

Not sure if this list may be of help?

Enlightened sounds like a better name as Enlightenment is what Empyrean is for

For just the Empyrean I would agree, but I want to leave it open to other religions. If you want to run Order Malakim, Enlightened would sound odd. As it is, so long as you get the event first it'll even apply to Savants. :p

There are quite a few definitions of "enlightened," though, and every religion will have some version of enlightenment. The Octopus Overlords version may be called "gibbering, raving insanity" by those outside the fold, for instance, but it's still a sort of enlightenment.

I actually think that the enlightened ones would be the masters who use the insane ones for prophecies, not the madmen.

I agree with this. Every religion has some sort of "enlightenment" so, an "Enlightened" is an obvious choice fitting every religion, IMO.

Just something this made me think up.
What is enlightenment?

"The strength needed to do what must be done, no matter the cost to yourself." -From the Code of Junil
"The wisdom to forgive those who have transgressed, and show mercy to those who have earned it." -From the Empyrean
"The virtues of the Earthmother: hard work, diligence, perseverance." -From the Tablets of Bambur
"To see the world as it is, and accept both its glories and terrors as equally necessary." -From the Song of Autumn
"The knowledge of all the wonderful little dark nooks and crannies in men's hearts... including, of course, your own." -From the Council of Esus
"To see the world, not covered in all the little lies men tell themselves in order to preserve their precious 'sanity,' but as it truly is." -From the Necronomicon
"The strength needed to do what must be done, no matter the cost to others." -From the Ashen Veil

You've convinced me, I'm going with Enlightened. Using your text in the 'pedia, if that's okay. ;)
