Remy LeBeau was certainly extra cautious after being attacked the previous night. He had change to a new room, seeing as the previous one had a large hole. He recalled the moment of when he was just about to die and how he had blasted Sabretooth across the room. He shuffled his pack of cards once more and thought deeply about his new powers. All the other mutants he had seen on TV and even Sabertooth seemed to have new names or at least codenames. He wondered if he should choose an alias. He shuffled his cards one more time and then began to place them around the edges of the room. He looked at all the cards and a wry smile crept along his face, ‘
Gambit is an excellent name’ he thought. ‘Let’s see them try take on Gambit now…’
They were all highly polished and in good working order yet
Bill Stryker checked his weapons for the third time. Bill had time to waste. There was a knock on the door. “Your early” Bill called out as he made his way to the door. He opened the door wide expecting a friend yet the figure that greeted him was not familiar. It reached out towards bills face, Bills eyes glossed over and his mind went all blank.
With another knock on the door, Bill awoke to finds himself lying on the floor of his room. He was quite groggy, and tried to sit up. “Bill… are you there” a voice at the door whispered followed by another knock. Bill pulled himself up on the coffee table and stumbled over to the door, “Whose there” whispered Bill. “Its me, Zane, who else...” and exasperated voice answered back. Bill opened the door much more cautiously this time and invited Zane in. Zane made his way to Bill’s weapon stash and choose an automatic shotgun. Zane loaded it full of shells and looked up at Bill “You ready?” he asked. Bill still a bit groggy answered back “Yeah, I guess. You find our targets room?” Zane replied in pained fashion “Of course.”
The Juggernaut sat on the bed staring at the wall, he had a curious feeling like a felt a bit light and fluffy which was at complete odds with his build. Piotr the night before would have never described The Juggernaut as light let alone fluffy. The Juggernaut shook his head and put on his Helmet. At once he felt more like himself, Indestructible. ‘Time to cause trouble’ he thought and he set off.
Bill Stryker and
Donovan Zane heard a crashing sound up ahead, Zane turned the safety off on his weapon and proceeded forward. They came to a door to the main auditorium and heard the sound of splintering wood emit from under the cracks of the door. Bill placed his hands on the door handle. “3, 2, 1… Go” Zane kicked open the door and he hurried inside followed closely by Bill. Zane paused as he saw the size of the guy that was now in front of them.
The Juggernaut was puzzled about which way he should go but the appearance of two armed men take his mind off such a complicated matter. “Looks like you boys are here for some fun” said the juggernaut as he charged at the stunned men. Bill shoulders his Carbine and took aim and pressed the trigger hard. He unleashed a whole clip towards the Juggernaut but the bullets seemed to bounce off. The two men separated in different directions as Juggernaut closed in, Zane fired off a few shots but it had no effect on the Juggernaut, he just kept on going and turned to follow Zane who was running away firing blindly behind him. Bill on the other hand reached for his grenade, pulled the pin and threw it at the Juggernaut. It exploded just as it made contact blowing up a cloud of dust and debris. Suddenly the Auditorium shook with a booming laughter, the dust started to settle and the Juggernaut was standing there looking pleased. “You think you can kill me” The Juggernaut laughed some more. “Me? Honestly, I am unstoppable!” Bill fell to his knees he felt all sweaty and his hands started to shake, his gun dropped to the floor and he threw up. “You that scared of me? I don’t have time to mess with puny human scaredy-cats like you.” and with that the Juggernaut took off and created his own exit in the audition wall. Zane ran towards Bill. “You alright there buddy?” and he helped Bill to his feet. Yeah, I… I just need a lie down I think…” Bill tried to regain his composure but Zane ended up carrying him all the way back to his room.
In the mean time,
the Juggernaut finally figured out where his targets room was and barged inside.
Jason Wyngarde stood against the wall in terror. He didn’t have any luck. “What are you doing, ya filthy Human?” roared the Juggernaut. Jason didn’t reply, in fact he didn’t even move. Whether this was because he thought the Juggernaut was a dinosaur and didn’t sense movement, noone knows. But it sure did confuse the Juggernaut. He picked up Jason and shook him. “Say something you runt!” but even this still didn’t loosen Jason’s tongue. The Juggernaut dropped Jason on the ground, he had lost all interest. He kicked Jason and sent him flying across the floor into a sofa, then promply left through another self created exit. Once the Juggernaut was out of ear shot, Jason finally spoke. “Why me?”
If anyone knew the reason perhaps it was
Graydon Creed. He watched as the Juggernaut thundered through a few walls in the opposite direction. He even heard
Jason Wyngarde exclaim "Why me?” It was a nice opportunity to present oneself thought Greydon, he stepped through the Juggernaut-made exit and confronted the dishevelled man. "This is just not your day is it?" Jason just sighed as Greydon approached him, chloroform in one hand and syringe in the other.
Jason was lucky nothing worse happened to him, unfortunately, this was not the case for
Raven Darkhölme. She had minded her own business and kept a low profile, being a former counter-intelligence agent help with those things, of course. She was just biding her time waiting for an opportunity to collect another sample of Mutant DNA for her employers. Little did she know that she had attracted the attention of a mutant.
Sabretooth never had any kindness, not even for his son and there certainly no compassion for Raven. It only took a few seconds for him to decide how he was going to kill her. He pinned her to the ground, and drew his face up to her neck, it was a very familiar smell, comforting almost. But the comfort only increased his lust for blood. He opened his mouth wide, bearing large fangs and bit down hard.
Senator Autolycus walked into the Ravens room and saw the bloody remains on the ground; he closed his eyes and signalled for an aide. “Go find the Professor.” It did not take long for Professor Winston Hughes to arrive. He placed his hands on Ravens body and declared:
Once morning broke
Senator Autolycus gather everybody together in the Auditorium. “And once again we have an example of a savage mutant killing a poor human. No doubt the same mutant that tried to kill me! I will not stand for it! I call Professor Winston Hughes to reveal his mutant friends that are against the peace we seek.”
