Modern Armored Fighting Vehicles

I`m curious what the fidget for the TOWs are showing exactly. I couldn`t figure that out by my own.

@Ares: Again you post a screenie that make me wonder ,how good you are catching up the military athmosphere of troops in the field. Let me wish you`ll someday upload a map for us. btw ,what is it where the soldier stands on in the jungle ? I would like to have it !

Soldier is just popping the hatch and checking on the launcher from the underneath. Whether or not that does anything IRL, doesn't matter.

I has to take a nearer look into the TerrainBuilings.pcx ,I think.

May I suggest to add two more units to the downloads in Post 1? I mean Wyrmshadow's Centurion and M-47.

What's with the 3rd person?:confused:

Well, Wyrmshadow doesnt think that Wyrmshadow's Centurion and M-47 belong with Wyrmshadow's other modern units. They will stay in Wyrmshadow's WW2 thread for now.

I needed an upgrade for my motorized infantry, and I thought it would be a nice idea to use Wyrm's new APCs. I never liked the firaxis MI, because it just shows the APC, not the actual infantry (and it sucks, btw). So I came up with this.

As you can see, the APC animations are used while travelling (out in the field) and on the 1st attack. The APC provides suppressive fire before the infantry rushes in to get the job done. It works pretty well for me. The stats are the same as for modern infantry plus 2 HP (armor), 2 Movement and defensive bombardment (covering fire from the APC).

Try it, if you like. :)

Oh, and now the AI actually uses them... they usually tend to build a zillion tanks but no APCs...

But these units are not a replacement for the APCs, I'm using them as well, to move units around (land transports) and for smaller engagements.

Ah, the possibilities... ;)
 
Yes it is. Wyrm love the new additions up to your normal excellent standard!

Wasn't always the case. I just found and uploaded my first computer grafix. Just check out my deviantart profile in my signature. The pixel art is from 1996 while the bryce stuff I did way back in 1998. I did other things but I can't find the other images from 10+ years ago.
 
I'm having problems adding Wyrmshadow's new units to C3C(like: http://forums.civfanatics.com/downlo...=file&id=14377 ). The .flc and .wav files for defending don't play for any of the units. Is there something I need to mod to make it happen? Right now, only the files under the attack options play when the unit is defending. Also I can't get any sound on the new armored personnel carriers( http://forums.civfanatics.com/downlo...=file&id=14356 ). Actually seems to be a problem with all the units I've added since loading C3C on my newer laptop. Is there a fix for this? Everything is fully patched.

Look into your sound preferences, maybe you have some wrong speaker settings like 5.1 sourround on a stereo system? The sounds work for me ingame.

The defend.flc is only played when one of the units that are engaged in a battle has only one Hitpoint (HP) left. Think of it like a last stand animation.
You do not hear any sound for the M-113 only or in general ? Strange in any way. Check the ingame settings for sounds and music. Make sure everything is set to 100% volume.
 
And don't make multiple threads asking the same question.
