Turn 0 610 AD
OK, were not far from loosing the benefits from the GL. We would like a war w/ the Inca but are not ready for it.
Turn 1 620 AD
Building barracks in cities where were planning on building units.
Bought wines from the Maya for gems and 10gpt. We can turn entertainment down to 0% netting 8gpt.
We have an American settler wandering around our territory and we tell Abe to get him the heck outta here.
Turn 2 630 AD
Both the Inca and Babs have Theology and Gunpowder so well be getting those next turn.
Turn 3 640 AD
We have a source of saltpeter.
Nothing
Turn 4 650 AD
Kicked the Americans out.
The Inca have fur which will one day serve us well.
Turn 5 660 AD
Nothing much.
Turn 6 670 AD
One of our volcanoes has erupted. No real damage.
Not much.
We agree to a RoP w/ France.
Turn 7 680 AD
Not much.
Turn 8 690 AD
The Inca have acquired Gunpowder and do not have saltpeter. Pity.
Turn 9 700 AD
Were strong compared the Inca but I would like to hold off on the attack. Let them keep doing our research while we grow even stronger. When we go to war with them the more lopsided the better.
We trade our extra horses to the Babylonians for 29gpt and 14g. The trade route w/ them is safe if we go to war w/ the Inca.
IBT:
Syracuse flipped to the Inca on us. This will be avenged.
Turn 10 710 AD
Not much.
Our deal iron for lux deal w/ France is up in five turns and it appears France nay have access to a source of iron. Lets hope not.
Gems deal w/ the Maya continues for another 11 turns.
Lux deal w/ the Aztecs also end in 5 turns.
Inca and Babs are at tech parity and as soon as they sway Educationt the GL comes to an end. Im going to push up research on Chemistry towards a goal of getting to cavalry. If the Inca lack saltpeter then a mess of cavalry will make very sort work of their pikes.
Plains below Pisae need roads and irrigation.
Ravenna needs a duct and a courthouse.
720 AD
Not much
15 legion/15 knights, 10 pike/musket defenders.
730 AD
Not much. No deals to be had.
MM the cities for growth/production balances focusing on just filling the food box.
Any suggestions as to which city we should construct the FP? I have found that in
![Civ3 Conquests [c3c] [c3c]](/images/smilies/c3c.gif)
, other the city in which the FP is built it seems to have little effect on the surrounding cities. Thoughts?
740 AD
Nothing much.
Were strong compared to all others.
Weve been building a mix of offensive and defensive units, infrastructure, and Knights Templar will finish in 6 turns. Although I would very much like to go to war with the Inca right now I think I need to be patient. Other then the Inca we need to take a swipe at the Americans to relieve them of their saltpeter outside of Buffalo and their silks. Theyll have to be the next target, as we have no navy to transport the forces.
Yikes! I have lost the lines on the diplomatic screen. This is always a warning to me that the program is about to crash. Time for a reboot.
750 AD
Maya finish Sun Tsus and we see a wonder cascade.
Babylon has Education. The end is near for the GL.
Pompeii needs happiness.
Im going to bump entertainment because we have a few cities on the edge and I cant MM Pompeii to finish its market and stay happy in one turn otherwise.
I would advocate razing and replacing the Incan towns because otherwise were just going to see them flip back.
The Inca have a number of units in the open and Im temped to start the war now as these would be easy pickins
760 AD
The Inca have Education now so this is the last tech we get out of the GL.
More cascades to Knights Templar.
I built a knight in a city w/o a barracks. Sorry.
The Inca put even more units in the open.
France wants Chivalry and Theology for their two luxuries. This seems steep.
Im going to reclaim our gems from the Aztecs and trade them a tech instead and pay for the luxes from France for a tech and gems.
We trade Joan Chivalry (its less expensive and she lacks horses) and gems for ivory and incense.
Well, the Aztecs wont bite on Chivalry so it seems I made the wrong choice for Joan.
Theology to the Aztecs for dyes and gold
Note: American lacks iron.
I looked into offering Theology for an alliance against the Inca but nobodys biting.
We declare the Inca scum.
We take workers, kill swords, horsemen and two MI w/ no losses so far.
We take Arequipa and keep it due to its small size and low flip probability at the moment.
We loose three knights and kill but one pike in Machu Piccu.
There are alliances to be had but I dont see the price as worth it and the risk of them aligning w/ the Inca as low/not a problem.
The bigger risk is being sealed into a 20 turn deal for war.
770 AD
We have six successful defenses w/ two elite promotions and a single loss of a knght.
Machu Picu is taken and razed. At size 12 we would have never held it.
Other battles go well, Our kill/loss ratio is good. Retreating wounded knights and setting kill zones for Incan ground-pounders.
Found an Incan musket.
Goals are going to be to unhook horses, salt and capture gems and furs.
Knight in Antium in return for slowed growth.
Switching Palmyra to a courthouse as its otherwise corrupt gaining no benefits from either a library or a market.
Lugdunam, our fishing village is getting a harbor at the moment and probably should go for the courthouse next.
Virconium switched to a courthouse due to the corruption.
Neapolis is a good treasury city and needs the duct for growth/increased revenue.
Cumea needs a duct for growth but we switch to knight because we need some more attackers. On second thought, research is pulled back and well rush the duct and then move to knights.
No trades to be had other than giveaways.
780 AD
One knight loss to a LB, why didnt her retreat? Was Elite. And one regular knight kill to our pike. Sword enter kill zones.
We capture Huamanga w/ an elite legion kill (no GL) and keep it due to gems.
Risk a vet musket against a LB and it pays off twice.
Beg a sword and archer to attack a pike across a river. We shall see.
No trades worth the trouble.
790 AD
Bad IBT. Three losses including the loss of Seleucia to a LB. One knight win promoting to elite.
Inca sword took the bait but it didnt turn out well for our pike. May he RIP.
A little revenge killing.
Treb on move-to gets hung in the open.
WW is already at 22% in Rome. I believe we may have to cut this short.
800 AD
Treb captured. Thats it.
Treb capturing sword dispatched. Pike killed and settler taken.
Syracuse recaptured at the loss of an elite legion to a vet spear.
We can probably take a some, or all of the outlying/disconnected cities but then well need peace. By the time we get MilTrad in the 20 turns will be up and we can roll over the Inca.
