I do not know of these other attempts. I assume they were long ago since I've been here for 3 years or so, so I'd assume because the community was smaller then and thus not ready for a move? I don't really know much about the other attempts, as I've stated.

I'm going to start the campaign RIGHT NOW that we ask for a full Forum in Other Games, and not get filed away as yet another obscure sub-forum of All Other Games. After all, the caption is "Discuss other games you like or hate..." We're a little too dedicated for that.
NESing is far more developed and sophisticated, and merits qualification along with Alpha Centauri and other more 'high-profile' attempts. We should try for that initially.

This sounds like a good idea, but I seriously doubt TF will give us such a large forum. Although, that would be optimal, and we should use our huge postcount as an argument as well.

The difference is this time the (super)majority wins, and if it wins, you'll have precious little option or recourse to stop its will from being executed unless you want to be irrational and leave over what will amount to a fairly minimal change to your activities.
People wanted democracy and in democracy the mob rules. Tough.
I agree with North King, and frankly Thlayli, you should know better than to rush off and do your own thing by now.
This whole mess happening now is entirely your fault still.When this poll is over we may make a poll as to where we will go since there are about three mainstream options (Civ4 S&T, Other Games, Forum Games) that have been voiced repeatedly.
Once something has been decided there, then our elder statesmen may make an appeal to Thunderfall to execute the results.
It makes sense to take our time and do it right, so I suggest nobody jump the gun lest they shoot themselves in the process.

I agree that "this whole mess" of being on the verge of consensus to move to a better location IS my fault. 
Of course I'll sit back until the appropriate thread, but I wanted to make sure that the terms of our move aren't forgotten in the rush to move somewhere.
