NESLife attempt #3

Sorry, I havent been able to log on in a while from home and been busy at work with a big project. Really missed this game!

Happy to see my creature survived the global tragedy, I have big plans for them!

Flying Ace: marauder68
Evolved from: Flying Form
Genes added: Flesh eating x1, Gills x1
Genes (16): Plankton Eating x2, Swimming x3, Vibration Sense x1, Eyes x1, Cold Resistance x1, Flying x2, Jaws x1, Flesh eating x3, Cartilage x1, gills x1
Description: With the scarcity of food only the most efficient fliers survived. This led to improved flesh eating ability. The growth of gills to aid in extraction of oxygen from the environment helped in maintaining their high metabolism. They could also keep their gills open to let air flow over them while flying while not as efficient as water it helps a little. Despite their low numbers they still hung on as the only fliers and fastest swimmers.

Must say, the blur is a negative for me... i like to clearly see what is going on! Regardless, time to get evolving! :)

Spoiler Terranoalgae :
Terranoalgae: Niklas
Evolved from: Obstoalgae
Genes (11): Photosynthesis x6, Cold Resistance x1, Hibernation x1, Carpeting x3, Water Retention x3, Acid x1
Description: Thriving on simplicity and efficiency, the algae continued to breach new land, to go where no plant had gone before.

Proto-Moss
Evolved from: Terranoalgae
Genes added (2+1): Stalks x1, Airborne spores x1, Mass Reproduction x1
Genes dropped: Acid x1
Genes (18): Photosynthesis x6, Cold Resistance x1, Hibernation x1, Carpeting x3, Water Retention x3, Stalks x1, Airborne spores x1, Mass Reproduction x1
Description: The primary advantage of the early landbased algae was the ease with which they could spread to and survive in new environments. This trend would continue through the use of a multitude of spores, hoisted on stalks, that the wind could spread far and wide.

OOC: Finally some innovation from me, yay! :D Though in hindsight I think taking the safe and boring path the past few updates really helped my algae through the hardships. :)

Terranoplan : Abaddon
Evolved from: Terranoalgae
Genes (11): Photosynthesis x6, Cold Resistance x1, Hibernation x1, Carpeting x3, Water Retention x3, Acid x1
Genes Added: Roots x 1. Stem x 1
Description:

The algae is becomeing more plantlike, to fuel this change roots are driving down into the virgin soils, drawing up nutrients which are routed to the stems. Towers of algae reaching up into the sky. Their carpetting abilitys means other plants are swamped under their advance, and they are no longer just attacking along a horizontal plane. The cold resistance and hibernation allows them to live virtually anywhere, the high photosynthesis means they thrive.

@Abaddon: :)

Because we're afraid of the big bad Fenals, that's why. ;)

Seriously though, you definitely have a point. Why be acidic when there's no one to threaten you? Consider my template edited. :)

Besides, at level one it can't be much worse than eating a lemon. :p

Of course, some animals are quite sensitive.

Besides, at level one it can't be much worse than eating a lemon. :p
 Probably a lot less than that!

I just didn't want it to be very energy-efficient to try to eat my algae with them crawling roots. But the risk of that has disappeared, and anyone with Plant Eating >1 would still eat them with good appetite I would wager.

because at some point i may want to ramp up defences, so will let it just sit.

I tried to keep my animals efficient and low gene numbers.. but my survival rate did not reflect this...so i thoyught sod it, i'll keep em all.

Actually, under my current circumstances I have decided to quit NESing.

Sorry to hear that, Neverwonagame. Hope you come back sometime.

@marauder68, welcome back!

@all, i guess its about time i did another update. I may have one ready for tommorrow. If anyone else has a species to post, please do so within about 18 hours!

Socivalion: The Farow
Evolved From: Predavalion
Genes (16): Plankton Eating x2, Flesh Eating x1, Swimming x2, Vibration Sense x1, Eyes x2, Pressure Resistance x1, Brain Power x2, Skeleton x1, Cartilage x1, Jaws x2, Fangs x1, Communal Behaviour x1, Parenting Instinct x1
Description: The Socivalion has as the brain grew made better use of its functions. Slowly, over time social behaviour of rearing of young and group hunting came about. The young would often attach themselves to their parents on the sticky slime coat of the adult. The eggs themselves were also attached to the females slime coat. The young would feed on the leftovers of their parents prey.

Time to survive tough times!

Simplavalion: The Farow
Evolved From: Predavalion
Genes (16): Plankton Eating x2, Flesh Eating x1, Swimming x2, Vibration Sense x1, Eyes x2, Pressure Resistance x1, Brain Power x2, Skeleton x1, Cartilage x1, Jaws x2, Fangs x1, Communal Behaviour x1, Parenting Instinct x1
Description: Times were tough and the enviroment no longer plentiful. The creature would have to abandon several of its complexities in order to survive. All parental instincts were dropped as well as the level of intelligence. Only smaller brains that consumed less energy could survive. The creature turned the massive extra energy provided by the brain and funneled in the energy into creating an ambush style of catching prey. A tougher stomach was developed to deal with the growing toxins and that was the only improvement.

-Take away a brain power, parental instincts, and a swimming (due to being an ambush predator. Now all they had to do was cling on to the tough times for a more plentiful era.

Add:
-Complex Stomach x1
-Vibration Sense x1

Edit: Daft could you change the color of my creature's skin to match the sandy ocean bottom to represent their new ambushing ways.

@The Farow, thanks for posting the new species.

@cvlowe, thanks for the link. Thats a cute looking squid thing :)

@All, no update tonight (sorry) though i have done all species pictures and stats (except for The Farow's, which ive just got). Rather than rushing it tonight, I will take some time to do a proper update tommorrow. I hope that is OK, given the amount of time thats already passed anyway.

Somebody said they didnt like the spoliers (im not sure who it was).

Though since you asked, here is what your creature looks like (it might change again before the update):
