Who me ? I am not spamming. It is because pineappledan didn't believe me that resources are either not placed at all or placed in enemy territory. I am glad I provided screenshots to clarify the issues I am observing on this weird map.

It's working as intended tho. He settled a city where there was no available land tile on which to plant the resource.

I was making a genericized statement that bug reports should go on Github, not here. Much more likely to get attention there.

hi all, (rather) long time lurker here. First of all, thanks a lot for the great mod.
I have played quite a few games on a version I got in April (sorry, not sure about the number), and then got the new one couple of weeks ago. I play on small maps on standard or epic speed, Pangaea or Fractal maps, if that's important. Used to be an Emperor/Immortal player in vanilla civ v.
I have read the entire thread, but might have missed something, so my apologies if something in my feedback has already been addressed here.

1. the new version has become way easier to play. Since april I was struggling on emperor (got wiped out few times) and feeling quite comfortable on king; now I played a few games on emperor and did not have any problems. In particular, it is easier now to take AI cities, to grab (early) wonders and not to lose units in wars. Not sure if this is good or bad, just an observation though.

2. The new tribute system is very interesting, but also confusing; e.g. should I take this 12 gold early on and miss on a few quests? There was a suggestion to limit the lowest tribute to 25%, and this would certainly help. Yet, sometimes I am able to bully a city-state with a single scout (although well-promoted). The situation where you explore the land, meet a new CS and they immediately agree to pay you feels a bit wrong (if you are not the world military #1).

3. another issue with tribute is that sometimes you can bully a cs as a quest for another cs, and then the effort you have to make to earn the bonus is way too small. One way to solve this is the change the CS quest to High Tribute only; another one is to reduce the corresponding bonus.

4. As I mentioned, it became way easier to capture Ai cities. In particular, I've seen a few times how a wounded AI unit was fleeing the city in the middle of the siege, which made the whole thing much smoother. I suppose there is some kind of AI logic evaluating the chances of keeping the city and when the chances are too low, it was trying to save units at least, but it makes no sense to a human player at all.

5. Has anyone else noticed that early wars with chariot archers are very easy? Like, if you happen to have those 4 horses next to your capital, and your flatland neighbour not, it's pretty much gg (if you want), especially if you park your spearmen on top of his mines so he can never finish those walls and you manage to get the Statue of Zeus. I mean, it is quite historical and maybe ok-ish game-wise because you don't have to fight, but sometimes the temptation is just too strong. So you go for it, and of course this means you ignore the shrine, miss a religion, your other neighbour settles the sweet spot for which you are going to go into another war etc, so the playstyle spectrum gets somewhat limited.

6. On the 'capturing the civilians' modifier: in one game I tried to max exploit the worker capture strategy, and did not see this modifier until very late. So based on my experience, the issue is close to non-existing.

7. When you move the great diplomat into a CS territory to build an embassy, sometimes this option is greyed out and the tooltip says, can't build an embassy on top of a strategic resource (even if this resource is not yet discovered). not sure if anything can be done about it though.

Thank you for the feedback!

Any issues regarding combat/tactical AI should be reported on Github for ilteroi to examine.

Embassies can be built on top of resources in the latest version, you must be playing an older version.

I prefer to post it here because I don't have Github account. Also the devs tend to ignore many requests there, flag them as INTENDED while the intention is really not clear at all. Plus in coronavirus pandemic devs find a convenient excuse to slightly delay or ignore urgent matters. It is pandemic after all you know so people have more urgent issues on their mind. Very natural. So I prefer to post it here to escalate more attention on urgent game-breaking issues, like Indonesia's resource placement is as severe as no other Civ experiences.

I can give multiple screenshots how it breaks but people find that whining so I will refrain from doing that and tell them to play Indonesia and experience these issues from first hand and try having fun at the same time.

Can anyone help me to explain this?
I promoted my scout to scouting III, granting extra movement. Then, he was moving only 2 steps for a few turns. So I was going to open a Github issue, but before doing that I double tested it, and there the scout said it had 0/3 movement. So the three steps are there, but I swear he did move just 2 steps per turn for a while. Did scout movement rules not apply for the third step or is it something else? It's the first time I notice this, so I'm not sure if this was happening before.

About Indonesia, that's one civ I never managed to master. It's too weird for me (uniques in opposite tech places, monopolies being lost upon new city settlings, krisman too late for barb training, but lackluster economy to go to war if I focused first on krismen, krismen with fewer chances to fight if I focused first on economy, when I can use both uniques I'm already in Middle Ages with some extra happiness and some weird promotions on a few melee units, hope they don't die). If it were balancing issues, it should be discussed in the civ thread, but since we are talking about a possible bug, it's ok to talk about it in the main thread. Once it is clear it is a bug, that should be posted in Github.
Anyways, if the discussion is taking longer than expected, it would be polite to move the talk to a new thread.

I know about the scout bug. It happens all the time so I can confirm it exists. It works selectively. I gave upon it because ... scouts who cares about them.

Again, they are not devs. They do that on their free time. For free. Please excuse them for not spending the whole weekend trying to fix the urgent non-issue of Indonesia severe GAME-BREAKING resource placement. Thanks

I understand perfectly well that the devs are doing it for free. But I ask that they also understand that we play for free as well and spend time for free to do it. So it is a natural clash between devs free time and player free time and as far as I know everyone's time is deficit. The truth is probably in the middle.

I ask how come years in development of the game and Indonesia still plays grossly bugged ? Is this from yesterday issue or been there always ? I am 90% certain this is Firaxis fault engine.

But I am also tired of playing with tons of bugs as obvious as this. I lost desire to continue my game with Indonesia

I want to make it perfectly clear. I feel like I lost my time. I run into issues, I frustrated, I made screenshots. This is not the recipe for having fun and running into constant bugs while playing

I would like to know how it is game-breaking that SOME of the resources dont spawn correctly. AFAIK thats the only thing I think seems MAYBE to be broken. And I think its just bad luck to spawn outside your borders.

Of course it might not feel good to find a irritating bug, but lets not call things game-breaking and time-wasting if they are not that really.

Also, you are playing a beta, meaning you are testing something voluntarily. It is to be expected to find some bugs.

And thanks for the great mod to the devs :)

If it was only this incidence spawning in enemy territory okay. But I made more screenshots and more that this is a severe problem. Some of them don't spawn at all, some of them don't spawn on captured city, on and on. So many problems I completely lost desire to continue that game.

Cut it out Mr. Salty Bear. And take my advice, avoid Indonesia on naval island maps. Chances are you will run into these same issues and make these same posts trying to figure out why things don't work as expected. I don't have a Github account where I know bugs/issues can be posted to help the devs.

Moderator Action: please show more respect to the devs and other players

It seems that you have no idea of the huge imbalance between development time and playing time, and you have to understand that fixing bugs in a project of this size takes time. And it's not because one is affecting one of your game that resolving it become an urgent matter.

The mod's code is available, you can always try to fix it yourself if you can't wait.

I do not ask for too much. I make polls on controversial issues, I respect the poll decision. But bugs, old bugs please solve them especially severe bugs like Indonesia's unique ability.

I have perfect understanding of the time balance. Over 1500hours of playing, so please show some respect when players want fixes, thanks
I feel like I've seen this before...
On the off chance you're serious (or rather as further reminder for everyone else), respectfully requesting fixes (really could be any technical topic) means reporting to github. Willfully ignoring this will simply derail threads at most and get ignored at least.
Everyone who works on VP outside mod-mods pushes their work there for G to merge and release.

Im wondering which one for the Communitu map type is better, terra or continents?

Depends on what pace you want your game to have.

On Terra, the early game is similar to pangea, with a very limited number of landmasses which tend to be filled quickly (so a lot of religious game and early conflicts). After that, the second acceleration comes with the renaissance era : with new settling waves, an increased value for standing navies, and usually LOTS of barbarians to fight in the second hemisphere. This kind of map favors authority and tradition in the early game, but later offers a lot of space for ambitious wide players, if they manage to advance eras faster than their neighbors. Some civs like Polynesia or Spain are vert powerful on these maps, so beware.

Thanks. Seems that I am on 6-19 (that is what is written next to the Community Patch mod); that's not the latest one I suppose? Not sure how this happened, I thought I was following the download instructions here.

Upd. Reinstalled the whole thing and it's now 8-16. Sorry, my bad.
