New Buildings Discussion

Thanks for trusting me. I also have a lot of trust in TB and DH that their Disease and Black Ops stuff will bring the excitement to the later eras. And hopefully someday players will get to explore off world with multimaps. the Whole Space race and colonization of the moon and mars should be very existing for the later eras.

As for the pink icons, Fausmouse is already aware of them and trying to fix them. Remember he had a very busy RL this month. So we should cut him some slack since he did an AMAZING job over the summer.

OK, like i said in the past to DH, if you cant do it, or RL gets in the way, JUST let me know, and i can do it, just like if DH said to me i can do the TXT for ALL his HELP txt problems, i would do them, but he hasn't.:rolleyes:

I wasn't aware that they have pink icons until today. Hydro might have said it before and I just overread it. hydro, could you please check if there are icons in you FPK but with a slightly different name? Anyways, I will get some new Icons for those two until tomorrow.

StategyOnly no worries, the last eras are going to become fun once the space, biological weapons, black ops, and possibly Hacking elements get added. You have my promise that we won't go overboard with buildings.

Right now I am adding the concept of buildings, and Hydro reviews them. To be honest majority of Techs will only have an average of 4-6 buildings, 5 is my personal quota were I start to wonder if we need any more. There will be Wonders, National Wonders, Projects, Civics, and a good amount of pathogens that will work in a symbiotic manner with the other Eras. It will not just be a building thing, it will have its own "era ecosystem" if you will. It will be fun, it will be beautiful, and you will enjoy it. The Space element, the first manned flight to the Moon, to colonizing the Moon, asteroids, then Mars, the Gas Giants, to the colonizing of Alpha Centauri is going to add new elements to the game. Don't worry there are still something we can add to the other Eras. In conclusion, then new content is reviewed for high quality, and that it makes a pleasant impact in the game. Later the negative content that brings a challenge will be added. Trust me, once you enter Modern Era, the challenge just got a tad more difficult.

Also in Custom Game, we can choose what Eras to start in, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the more sci-fi oriented players would choose to start in Modern Era with Electronics Tech.

I am off for the next future days from school and work so I have about an extra 25 modding hours from now till Monday to do some real heavy modding work. Ready for orders

It exists in my FPK. Which is why Fausmouse gives them to me to stick with the resources icon/buttons I have made.

For what ever buildings were added tomorrow. I'll edit the building Pedias when you give the signal.

In my testing I was trying to build Police Mechs which means a Mech Assembly Plant. However I did not have Exoskeletons. So I needed a Hydraulic Factory (Req Powered Exoskeleton) which need the Biomorphics Lab (Req Genesis Biology AND Thought Scanning). Which requires Organic Photonic Cells. Which are made at Organic Photonics Factory (Req Organic Photonics).

So there are lot of problems wit this. First I should be able to build Exoskeletons early on which means the Biomorphics Lab is not a good fit since it comes after. So I need you to chnage the Hydraulic Factory to ...

Note the Mechatronics Lab comes before Hydraulic Factory and should work.

[offtopic] Talking of Mechs, i have one here i had especially made for one of my mods i used to have, and nobody else has it.
 
Ok, this was the last day that I can work on C2C for at least a week. Hydro, you wanted the Assemblers and I managed to make them along some other buildings. Unfortunatly there are a few XML erros I wasn't able to track down and the Pedia is screwed up, too. I think it has something to do with the expression system. Several Buildings had more then one AND requirements and I am not sure how to use it correctly. Because of those errors I don't want to upload them to the SVN.
I will upload the files I made here. Including the buildings listed below, the Mech Resource Folder, Art from Mr Azure that I converted to .dds and the icon for the Mech Resource.

Hydro, I'd like to see those buildings and the changes you want to add to your buildings in the next release. Could you please have a look on the attached files, fix the bugs and then upload them? Just copy the Mech-Folder in Modules/Resources/Faustmouse and override my Modules/Faustmouse/Buildings files with the attached files (they include all my previous buildings and the art fix Mr Azure did).

Some things I changed:
- +1 Scientist for Stem Cell Lab and Tissue Engineering Lab
- increased :science: for those to (5 instead of 2)
- no Civic Penalty from the Stem Cell Lab, because they we'd need much more civic unhappieness on other buildings. Stem Cells do not need to be human if you want to research them, and IF they are, they can as well be induced stem cells (IPS). If you want the unhappieness, keep in mind that you need stem cells for Tissue Engineering, too.
- added Enzymes as prereq Bonus for one building (don't know which)
- removed the OR Helium 3 requirement for the automated car dealership. Helium is absolutely inert and won't react in a chemical reaction. I'm not sure if Helium 3 will act much different, but I'm pretty sure it's also inert. Also, automated cars can still use Oil Products or Biofuels.

The following lists shows you what I did in the attached files and you can also post this in the SVN update thread when you upload them.

Feel free to mess around with my files as much as you want, I will update my working copy when I resume modding. I will still be at the forum though, I just won't have time for modding. If you have any questions or if something is missing, just tell me.

@ Mr Azure: Once Hydro finished these and uploaded them, you can edit their pedia entries. Also, could you have a look at my Resources, some of them have no pedia, too. Thanks! :goodjob:
