i dunno but what job nowadays doesn't require one?Dom Pedro II said:A BA in what? In mod-making? I could see some kind of BA in computer programming or graphics for the other positions... but for the modder?

warpstorm said:Serious mods to Civ4 will require more than a little bit of Python programming and extensive use of XML. You won't need to be a degreed professional programmer to do it, but it would really help a lot I'd imagine.
Well, I have no doubt of that. But if they were to set it as a necessary qualification, they'd be exempting almost everybody that's made mods/scenarios...

Dom Pedro II said:Here's the problem with any argument used with regards to graphics... we don't... none of us in fact... have experience with making graphics like what is supposed to be in Civ IV. Our experience with graphics is probably very different from how it's going to be done in Civ IV... so I don't think any of our unit creators could qualify unless they have some other experience other than this.
warpstorm said:Not everyone, though.
There are some published Civ3 mod makers out there who are degreed professional programmers with Python, C++, and XML experience.
These were listed as bonus skills, though. Not absolutely required, but if it came down to two candidates who were equally qualified on the required skills, but one had all the bonus skills and the other didn't, I suspect I know who'd get the job.
well, how unfortunate. Id probably be a pretty good candidate.El Justo said:i dunno but what job nowadays doesn't require one?

Dom Pedro II said:I have no idea who these published mod makers are. If you say there are, I must assume you know that somehow, so I'm not going to deny it.
