@bonefang I've deliberately not gone with first-come-first-serve. If you saw a preview map in the thread that was just a rough experiment. I've set a deadline of 20th Sept for people to post nation ideas so you're still more than welcome!

Hate to say this guys, but how about launching that new NES in IoT forum?

We may or may not have a large, latent pool of people lurking here, ready to return to any active NES on this forum. But it would be sad to see just a handful of people taking notice, when you've got that emerging community right next door.

Older type fresh start NES sounds like it would fit right in there. You'd just have to explain that the world is not pre-divided into set provinces :)
 
Thank you so much for your worries, but that is how NESing started, and so there is nothing to worry about. Also, people are taking this "Exodus" for much more than it really is... I suggest thought to keep discussion of it to WWW.

edit 2: Why IoT? This is the NES forum still right? There are some, it seems, that would like to just NES. It was quoted. :faint:

I hope so erez but positive thinking alone is sometimes not enough :)

Just pointing out you do have that lively young community sitting next door, that is all...
 
I don't have any interest starting an NES on the other forum (though I have created an account and may play in NESes over there). Call me stuck in my ways.

I obviously haven't been involved in whatever is going on in terms of moving to a new forum. If I do launch an NES, it will be here, and we'll see how many join and go from there.
 
He meant the IOT forum on CFC.

I am aware of them as much as I'm sure they are of us. If they want to NES I'm sure they will come, as many of them did up until now, and if I will want to IOT I will.
 
Yes I was referring to IoT.

The reason I'm saying this is I think it would be sad for NES forum to dwindle away to nothing. Take a look around - most of the recently active NESes are in the process of moving off-site. It only took a few mods leaving to take most of the community with them. I think that says alot about the dwindling fortunes here over the past few years.

If you don't see a problem then cool :)

But, *if* it gets to that stage please, lets not let sentimentality get in the way of what's best for the hobby. IoT is basically running NESes at this point. I'd much rather know that NES lives on through IoT here, than it becomes a sad ghost town.
