New NESes, ideas, development, etc

So, I got this idea several months ago. I like the general lack of purpose in the NES rules draft below, but I'd ask you whether you are interested, would comment, or have any idea what I mean with the below sentences.

I have one problem with the eventual hosting of this. As you might understand by it, it doesn't require much background knowledge about our history (or humanity at all) when hosting the thread; and I like the general outline of the project. However, I am unsure whether my amount of commitment will be sufficient for the whole project; I hope it will though. What do you think, should I present it in an individual thread or not?

Spoiler :
~ ljNES ~
You are no god on this painting

And yes, you should join even if you don't understand. This doesn't require a lot of commitment as of now.

Introduction

Good spare time stranger!

There you went, the bit thought of you comprehending the sufficient amount for yourself; see that you are the wise! But to brawl due the essence where there is none, and to create where there is nothing to take? So they asked me a question, any of them, would I still be answering something if nothing was everything?

I do know that it is widely said words, those three – nothing is everything – at least in cheap random generations of lyrics for the human art of poetry and prose. We do all see that it is an expression of emptiness. This is not what this is, this belongs to... some other category. What is a GodNES with no gods, let alone the beginnings with no force to drag together material, with no energy to shape matter from, with no laws of physics to base the plane of existence? I amuse myself from the potential of a future world surely to be reasoning much like our own; I don't doubt it. Still, a chance is to be taken, a project is to be based in no essence such as this; this is the attempt. Do not succeed in understanding what is in this thread, it's all for fun – just place your shoes inside the house and clean your mind; then type the name of the instance you are deserving like the format noted below! That entry will be taken in consciousness from the very first Update Zero of this universe. But you are no god on this painting.

Concept

Spoiler :
Well, I am unsure whether you understood the introduction. It outlined the concept of this project, and will be treated such; but I will still try to explain it in English.

First of all, this world is somewhat abstract. You participate in a world where you is nothing, where everything is nonexistant – where you yourself don't even have anything to say, as you are not there. Your goal, however, is to encompass something – to progress your instance to a higher level. Some kind of a conceptual 'Painter' has a hypothetical existence (AKA the mod), and serves as a trace of influence in this plane of nothing.

This NES will take place in a black box of space, which is the map as well. Initially, nothing will be there. Still, NESers will join to see what influence they will have on the plane – I will assign them a name as well as a short description, and from whatever is randomly and irrationally typed into that description, the NESer should treat that as his objective. He has no resources, no godlike creationist powers, no army, not even a nation. These concepts won't exist! What actions he can do, however, depend on the letter sent to the painter of this world. Over time, order requirements will be more concise and will actually follow a pattern since this will as well. There will be no further instructions, only an example of the 'orders' PM'ed below:

------------
ljNES ; lord_joakim ; Letter

Instance/user: Millstone/lord_joakim
“Not my bag standing in the bushes down there; this here bag is with me, one the balcony.”

Dear mister Painter!

It is time for you to explain me exactly why my properties are where I am, not where I do not need them – where did they ever go to from that place, how do I go back there? I'm unsure on the circumstances, but I know that there's plenty of room there for me. I need to make that place habitable for my bag! If nothing else works, I'll jump down from the balcony myself and let the bag land on me!

From Millstone
------------

Effect in the update could be that an unexplainable bubble of black mass has entered nothing, and without any direction to go, it disappeared; however another, smaller bubble entered the fray in the area where the first one went and is now completely still. Another option is that the Painter enforces a law that hinders objects created from nothing to become nothing ever again.

Rules

Currently no rules exist.

I'm going to bed and tomorrow night, I'll down a 40 ounce of vodka - maybe I'll understand it then..

As in 'No, I'm not interested, I don't think something that unhandy is capable of being run'? :p

I havn't got the faintest idea what you are on about LJ, but i'm interested.

No, it's, "this is interesting but I need to understand what it's on about"

Well, to be honest, I just have difficulties explaining it. :p It's an abstract concept, I know. But I take it as a positive response then - not a yes, perhaps, but I consider it positive.

Good to know that ;)

That's pretty trippy.

And perhaps intended to, but it should be fun, I think.

I'm in. I have always wanted to be nothing.

Great, I'll add you to "the list" then.

Sounds interesting, LJ. I assume it will not be as time consuming as a regular NES. If I am right, I am definately in. I'll probably need an ounce of Ben's vodka to understand wth we are doing, though

Did you type it drunk/tired/tripping? Cos some of the sentances seem to just end without conclusion...

At first glance I thought that it was at least 75% intentional, but perhaps NK is right. Or maybe Abaddon is. :p

I know he isn't, but in the many times I have shared with him, his english has been excellent :p

Well, it won't be time consuming, obviously... At least, not initially. I won't promise it staying simple though, but you may just quit the NES if you want if it becomes too complicated.

lord_joakim isn't a native English speaker, cut him some slack. :p

Well, I reread it, and some of the sentences aren't grammatically corrected, at least not completely, while others remain questionable in having a purpose at all - and perhaps this is suffering from the fact that English is my second language. And I appreciate North King's support, but the majority of times where that becomes a problem is when I debate with the more intellectual part of CFC (For example Symphony D., as you all know), where you tend to use expressions and sentences that are alien to me, or difficult to have an overlook from; this time, though, das had the right card. Most of the unconclusive expressions in my ruleset are intentional. Abaddon, I was not stoned or drunk, normally I am much more expressive when not influenced by drugs or alcohol, but I guess you might think that I was under influence of something. :) But still, thank you for your support on my English skills. x)

Man, I really like talking about myself.

So, to sum up, yes most of the weird sentences were intentional. Now I've begun consider the health of those when being included in the introduction of the very NES. However, I do as well believe that while they are unprecise, they are still generally outlining the tendency of the NES' style, which was why I attempted to even make the intro somewhat floating.

So, further comments or thoughts? Is it a launchable idea?

Is our goal even to create the NES :p

I'm really having difficulty grasping the concept, yet I am left craving it more and more. Count me in Lj. Perhaps I'll unlearn something and misunderstand it better.

Well, I'm on the G&T (medicinal purposes, mind) and I'm understanding it better.
I still don't see how the orders link to results though..

Personally, I'm in but be assured my letter to the painter will be as ridiculous and irrational and as impossible to interpret as in the example. :D

EDIT: And a line I'd like to add for description is "just a roller skate grand touring, all over the physical ironic power"

Haha, I love your wordplay there  Thanks for joining though, great to see another interested player!

I don't know whether that is a good or bad thing. :p

It's complicated, but I looked at a physical interpretation of mine regarding the letter, and therefore placed blobs on the map. Of course, this will not become a continious pattern. :p

Exactly, you got the point of the NES, really. Well, as a general notice, I think that even the small amount of players showing interest now might allow me to create the thread tomorrow. I'll give it a couple of hours of sleep, and then we'll see if the thread pops up ;)

I'll join this. I've got a rather interesting character concept...
