New NESes, ideas, development, etc

Like I have said already the Nubi are permanent NPC's along with the Emperor and the Shun.

I seemed to have missed that. What nations aren't being NPC'd, I don't see any denotations identifying the difference.

@Lucky I am a little confused by the backstory, I assume there is an off-map mainland that you mention? I am interested in playing as Rai :)

1.) The area around each system (or star) seems rather small for putting alot of icons around. Enlarge the star icons maybe?

Currently there will be a max of four 'slots' to put 'buildings' on, per star. It seems to work ok in a test. I'm more worried I need to space the stars out more if there are going to be tons of ships. I plan to run a test game thread first.

2.) Writing names for every ship under the sun might get tedious. Maybe just have each faction's ship colored coded with a number corresponding to the ship details on a separate chart?

Yeah maybe, I'll see how it goes...

3.) The sphere on the generic FTL travel lines between systems are really awesome for helping recongnize the actually time needed (1, 2, 3, whatever).:)

Thanks :) Yeah I was hoping it would be clearer than having lots of numbers on the map to show distances, especially if there are going to be other kinds of numbers on the map to confuse things.

Daftpanzer the new map looks a lot easier to understand which is certainly a good thing, but please don't tell me that you got rid of the ship construction and prototype stuff as well; that was my favorite part.:please:

Protoype is still in, I quite like that idea :) Ship design should be simpler though.

Daft you've got my heart all a-flutter(ed). Interest is definitely pipped, though I wouldn't mind a Daftnes 2 revival ;).....

Never saying never to DaftNES2 revival, I am thinking that Thlayli's rules ideas would be good for that.

Sure, that should work fine. Wasn't ZPNESV also originally just a test game?:D

Can I Reserve the Itachi (Unless they are already taken of course!), From What I Understand they are the Blue nation right above the Shun, Correct?

Requesting the Kataki.

So, obviously my last NES has been put into deep freeze. My interest kinda faded, but it was more of a time thing too.

So now that summer is here AND drivers ed is over with, I'm thinking about attempting what I consider to be a rather ambitious project. I am thinking about making a non-earth entirely from scratch, and then use it to do an "accelerated timeline" thing. However, eventually the "accelerated" part would stop, and the NES would turn into one looking more like BombNESIII. This will allow players to create nations on a non-earth map, and then play in a world with (hopefully) a good deal of depth in the industrial era.

That sounds very interesting. I hope you follow through it sounds like it could be awesome.

I would greatly be interested to be apart of such an NES. With the death of JulNES, I am on the search for an industrial time-period NES. :goodjob:

Well, I'm kinda split on this now. I could resurrect my god NES, or try this new idea. In all likelihood I'll update my GodNES again and see if I can get back into it. If not, I'll try this new NES.

For my part, I'm much more interested in this new idea than I was in GodNES, no offense to it.

Regardless, though, both are interesting concepts and would be happy to see either of them reach fruition.

Same here, But Whatever one you choose is good.

Bring back GodNES. I really enjoyed it.

I've noticed that a couple users have/had started DnD games recently. I'm not a regular of NES (so I think this is the right thread for my post), and I'm inexperienced when it comes to PnP rpg games. But I was wondering if anyone had started an RPG game with liter rules (but not strictly narrative sans mechanics)...

Well, out of my head I can think of: Dragonson NES'es are focused around storytelling and multiplayer dungeon sieges.

Some of the godnes'es would qualify. NutraNES involves immortals controlling masses. CitiNES, AnoNES Are featuring player controlling one character. With stats there is NES: The D.O.O.M. Project - Operation Skrømtby.

fc is local DND "expert" (in my point of view) and may share useful info with you :)
