NOTW LIII - Return to Ciretako [Game Thread]

I do have to shut down, though, I expended all my energy reserves trying to absorb this and contribute meaningfully here and elsewhere.

I was contacted by a name scanner.
Therefore, question for all players in knowledge of the setting:
which names could indicate flip hero or evil machine?

Well, what a to-do. It seems that various machines have decided that this one is a threat, which is a shame since this one is neither nor organic or a third party of either villainous or misguided intent. Unfortunately, this one had no idea that their nocturnal subroutines were inhibited on the first night of this gathering, as they had no functional target at that point and thus could not be employed, regardless of the alleged block. This one receives final messages from certain terminated machines during the night.

For what little worth it has provided so far:

Takhisis: 'Consulted the cyberdepths you have: what, pray, do you ask?'
Zack: Who voted double a the gun? Big butts cannot lie.

Jarrema to be lieutenant and to receive the gun, myself for the upgrade and a self-defence vote on Riedquat to be terminated.

Takhisis: 'Consulted the cyberdepths you have: what, pray, do you ask?'
Taghis pls...

Spoiler nsfw/nsfl perhaps :

The other roleblocker has contacted me, claiming the following blocks:

N1: Arakhor
N2: Double A
N3: No order submitted
N4: edse

I'm feeling very dubious about this. Firstly because a second town roleblocker, whilst not impossible, is inherently suspect. Secondly, because the claimant didn't come forward with any of this until today. Thirdly, because the one who the claim has pushed towards the lynch is the only one of those claimed blocks in any position to dispute it.

Had you revealed anything about your actions or your ability to anyone previously, Arakhor?

Flip Hero is the only name I can find that fits what you're asking for; that is, unless this Ciretako thing does indicate the presence of beings from the Iji universe (which, best as I can tell, is the most likely source for an organic lifeform).

We know that at least one of the scum was revealed under the same name (Mother) as a townie, though, and it's possible there are others (this non-Winston roleblocker, for example, could be my scum duplicate, as Double A was that of SouthernKing).

Somebody check this:

Tally
Arakhor (4): Backwards Logic, choxorn, edse, atpg
edse (3): Jarrema, Coyosis, Riedquat
Riedquat (3): azzaman, spaceman, Arakhor
azzaman (2): BSmith, bladescape

Not voting (2): KaiserElectric, Winston

So, just two hours remaining, and I'm the only active non-voter.

I mentioned to Jarrema that Zack's message seemed to be indicating you, as we knew that Double A was scum and that Sprig wasn't, but then I have no control over these messages or even what they're supposed to signify. I have only received messages from those machines who were night-killed, hence my inability to confirm whether or not I was role-blocked during the first night.

This. I trust our Game Moderator to have the sense not to make all the good guys system good guys and not all the bad guys the same. To do otherwise is game-breaking.

I think that matches what I have, and you should really get on that...:king:

When did you mention it to him and why?

I did it on Saturday. As for why, because I certainly don't know whether the messages I receive actually mean anything important, so I decided to pass on the only thing I found even remotely significant to the person who had talked about a town network.

Of course, if I survive the lynch and these messages are significant, I might not survive until tomorrow anyway. Role reveals suck at the best of times, but when you have no idea whether you even have a useful role or not, it sucks even harder still.

My lynch tally matches WH and Coyosis too, so clearly it behoves me to vote: Edse in defence. Riedquat does have the issue with the apparent PIS post, but that's not going to save me, is it?

Riedquat helped lynch john, but he was the first vote, and there was another scumbag on the wagon. Still, I find two less likely than one, so it's a small point in his favour. The PIS thing is neutral to me - I'd pretty much assumed both the gun and upgrade came from Double A, so I can see why he might have too.

On the flip side, he's been a bit too snuggly for my liking, and his general play got me thinking possible PFK, which is why I blocked him last night.

With regards to PFKs, I'm still thinking that a strength VC is likely, and wondering if their presumed high strength might prevent my block from working (its description hints that it might not work in some cases). So I'm treating the roleblock itself as little better than null, despite the fact we saw two kills last night.

Statement: Strength plays into this somehow, as otherwise Kennigt's scan would have been relatively trivial. A strength VC is certainly possible for PFK, but I'm not sure if a target's strength would effect an incoming action at all.

Retraction: I'm suddenly not feeling an Arakhor lynch right now. If I'm wrong, kudos, but that claimed ability is so bizarre I can't possibly see how a scum player would find that useful.

Accusatory: Choxorn. He's done everything to stay under the radar without contributing anything, and dodged my query earlier about speaking up. I'd like to hear more, even if it is last-minute. In fact, I wouldn't mind blasting the meatbag right here and now, but that's not up to me to decide. If someone has anything on him that clears him, speak up via private channels.
