NOTW LIII - Return to Ciretako [Game Thread]

I am also interested in BSmith, yesterday's efforts seemed minimal from him.

I got bubkis from my scan last night. I did attempt to scan BSmith but I was blocked.

I have a proposal to make, and I am certain it will result in that which organics refer to as "drama".

There are certain folks I feel are consensus pro-machine.

There are certain other folks who I feel are not cleared, and rightfully under suspicion.

Rather than make things easy for them, my proposal is as follows:

Let the uncleared, under suspicion, people reveal their list of players in this game, listing these persons from most functional and machine-like, to least logical and possibly organic or malfuctioning.

And let it not be permissible that they leave a single name on the active units list off of theirs, a probability analysis reading "machine" or "possible threat" or "likely threat" should be the absolute minimum they have to say about each person.

We trusted Jarrema to be the Lieutenant. I nominate Jarrema as arbiter of this experiment.

Jarrema should name his top suspect, and ask that person to list their reads of everyone in the game.

Once that person has done so, we move on to the next person, and the next, and so forth.

We do not need consensus on this, to implement it. I intend to implement it myself.

I nominate BSmith to give a list of reads on everyone. But if someone wishes to pull rank, and give an alternative command, it will not be met with my disapproval.

That was interesting. Backwards Logic claimed to know who could best be upgraded, was given the upgrade and was terminated last night. Where is the upgrade today?

Moreover, he attempted to swing a late-day vote on Choxorn and is now unable to do so in the light of a new day. Vote: Choxorn.

I think speculation on this point would be unproductive. BL was a functional and fully operational sentient machine, and his worth or alignment are no longer in question.

Moreover, he attempted to swing a late-day vote on Choxorn and is now unable to do so in the light of a new day. Vote: Choxorn.

I think this is a fair alternative.

Same case as yesterday. He's just coasting along without contributing.

Both fair statements. Though I have been more active in the background than I have been in the thread.

I nominate BSmith to give a list of reads on everyone.

This I will not do, as those at the top of the list would be just conjecture, while those at the bottom would imply that I have been networking with them and trust them. Under no circumstances will I out my network. I find it interesting that those asking me to publically stand up have not even once approached me in private. It smells almost like an attempt to push a lynch, rather than get actual information.

I started this game with an upgrade, which I passed on to someone who could use it. The gun that I was voted is the same one that is up for vote today, as I gave it to BL.

Do not have the time nor the capabilities at the moment to follow the idea, the plan or the thread, so here you go if this serve you of anything:

2. Spaceman98: Mostly machine, active, talkative, part of day 1 miniwagon on takhisis
4. Jarrema - Lieutenant: network representative, voice of the scanners
5. Winston Hughes: machine old school
6. Choxorn: completely the contrary of spaceman, also on same counterwagon on day 1
8. BSmith: insufficient data to process
13. Askthepizzaguy: crazy machine, many old printer parts in his assembly
18. Arakhor: sensors can't process data at hand, mixed signals,
19. Azzaman333: can't process data, stack overflow, logical analysis omgus suspicion, mechanical analysis incomplete
21. Riedquat: damaged machine, communications capabilities over reduced, internal reparations in process, estimated time to reach full operational level 28800 seconds...
22. Bladescape: insufficient data to process
23. Coyosis: machine, nice gear :|

List made, before BSmith's post...

People who contribute predominantly in private do so because they have something to hide, because they want to avoid scrutiny. If anything, I'm more suspicious of someone who contributes the bare minimum in thread and is particularly active in private.

Not really. There is plenty of information that is best left behind closed doors. If it is made public then the scummers can use it too. You'll also notice that those that have stuck their necks out publicly have lost their heads. BL being a prime example of that. azzaman

Sure, there's plenty of things that you shouldn't immediately publicly share with everyone. However, unless you somehow miraculously recruit all the townies and only townies to your private network, you're either leaving allies completely in the dark or you're deluding yourself as to the security of your network.

On top of that, a town player has little to lose from adding to the discussion in the thread. It's more valuable to the town for you to provide your thoughts and opinions than it is for you to merely survive in the background. Whereas for the scum team, it's absolutely more valuable to simply keep yourself alive and try to avoid drawing attention to yourself.

Perhaps it's a difference in philosophy of how to play, but I can't see your play as being pro-town. Hence, it makes sense to me that you're scum.

The writeup implies that he (tried to) use it on himself.

I'll vote: choxorrn as before for now, pending further information coming to light.

re networking: You saw what happened to BL. The fact is, townies in contact with valuable power roles probably shouldn't leak that information. Most networks form around town power roles.

For what it's worth, the final PM that Backwards Logic sent to me last night (in which he correctly predicted his own demise) included a strong defence of BSmith, who he said had been acting very townie behind the scenes.

BL also detailed his suspicions of four players. Two of those, I'm not going to discuss here, because I'm currently assessing the strength of the claims they've made to me in private.

The first of the other two is azzaman, who has flatly refused to tell me anything about himself. I don't like to make threats in this kind of case, but it's a simple fact that I know enough about the roles here now that someone I know nothing about is inherently suspicious, and a definite candidate for the lynch.

The other is spaceman, who is the claimed roleblocker I have been talking to. I've held off from going public with his identity until now, but the truth is that I'm not at all comfortable with either his roleclaim, or the choices he claims to have made during the game, and it's impossible for me to fully express why he should be a major suspect without revealing that info. In any case, if he were innocent, he'd probably have been the scum's guess for the second roleblocker, if they cared enough to think about it.

I should be clear that the above pair are a long way from being my only suspects at this stage of proceedings. It's just that the first is someone I need to know more about, and the latter is someone I want more eyes on.

Can anybody who has reason to think themselves incapable of using a gun please contact me at the next opportunity.

Also, if we do have any third parties out there, now would be a good time to let me know, before I mistake your non-towniness for scumminess.
