NOTW XXXIX: Impending Retribution Game Thread

This Assault rifle was stolen from the weapons inventory are it is my responsibility to return it, or at least to look after it until the inventory is more secure. I would very much like it back.

Ekolite can put the rifle back in it's proper place.

Earthling sir, are you not going to address the great big hole in the logic that forms the bases of your self proclaimed rules?

Ekolite, approximately the only thing you have done since this crisis began is ask for this assault rifle. It comes with a certain force of persuasion attached (vote bonus) in terms of accusing people. Why should it go to someone who's not even shown any interest in such matters?

There's no holes in our protocols, unless you mean that given the circumstances of this crisis people might not trust someone like the Captain. I'd of course be happy if everyone just told me where they were going and that would be foolproof, so it'd only help us keep things more organized if the crew did trust, say, the Captain and Renata and tell them too.

Ekolite we know those rifles grant an extra vote - is there anything else? I'm willing to turn it over to your responsibility though. Askthepizzaguy's death looks like it could even be a vigilante kill and there are a lot of weapons around as many have mentioned, more on that in a second.

Now, Seon, are you implying you've found out some things specifically with autopsies of dead crew members. With what you just aid today, you also mentioned in the past from our records:

Two shots to the chest and a single shot to the head... The murderer is a marine using a semi-automatic pistol.

Hmm... may I have the saboteur sprig's body after we shoot him in the head?

So is this something you can verify for sure, from your own expertise, or just speculation. I'm also not sure why you should have the Sick Bay key either, it shouldn't go to someone random but don't you already have access? If anyone knows what our late sailor was doing and would continue those aims they might be better trusted with this key.

I do have another question or recommendation for you or maybe point of discussion for everyone though, if you're actually able to do anything useful for the crew and not warped experiments.

Herr doctor - is it perhaps worth checking out Nictel for psychosis or some other psychological problem? That could explain his odd behavior without him being a traitor, at least it seems it would go for him more than anyone, and he has been consistently...delusional.

I support this investigation of Nictel but I won't actually vote to add to a bandwagon that can't be reversed and lead to trouble like in the past. So...choxorn for now until we clear up if he wasn't trying to sabotage the Engines.

OOC: What happened on the vote was that I loaded the page before Methos's unvote, and then got distracted by work. I really wanted Nictel free to do repairs and at that point in time it was a tie. Then I did not see that the vote swing carried it to the over number till after voting closed.
/OOC

Well, this night certainly changes things. I had Commander God Emporer on my list of possible black hats (but only a possible that was driven by the chance that the party was scheduled on purpose to open us up to more damage), and had no doubt that askthepizzaguy was innocent.

It seems clear to me that Nictel needs to be left free to do repairs. It wouldn't do to toss useful folks in the brig and lose the ship's capabilities as a result. We should put pressure on other people to see what happens. PO1 Darth Caesar, just saying you're present doesn't mean you're accounted for. And what's this "whatever rank I am"? Care to be more forthcoming?

So far I have not considered there to be sufficient evidence to support accusations against any person on this ship, and I have been wary of throwing idle accusations around as it is clear that this sometimes gets out of hand and can result in fatalities. Once we have assembled sufficient evidence, or I have other reason to believe in the guilt of a person, you can bet I will be far more open to their accusation.

And frankly, considering the guns are clearly a forceful weapon which seems to enhance your accusations, I think it best that they do not fall into the hands of the enemies. Therefore I think it better to either put them in storage or secure them in the possession of an innocent man. And thus far the only person I know for sure to ne innocent is myself.

The repairs are sort of the point, Nictel. You did repairs, only one person wound up with three bullets in him. If you're being framed, the killers must have an unusually strong motive to do so, to make such a sacrifice.

So"

Scenario 1:
I am being framed, as long as I am repairing the baddies try to frame me and don't kill anyone.

Scenario 2
I am a killer, however because everyone is looking at me I have no choice but to do repairs.

Result in both scenarios: I do repairs

So why again is it a good idea to put me in the brig?

Spoiler OOC :
I can see choxorn framing me just for the fun of it. ;)

No, silly earzling boy, it is common knowledge that marines kill people by shooting two rounds through the chest and a single parting shot to the head. It is rather difficult to pull off, so the murderer must be a marine.

Crate to Captain Methos. I have to agree with Renata, Nictel - if this is a frame, the killers are sacrificing a kill to do so. Additionally, I felt you were the best candidate for the lynch yesterday, and I don't see any better candidates today.

Standing near explosions really frickin' hurts. I strongly advise you all to avoid it, and don't try to act cool by standing near one and walking away, I don't think that will actually work.

I can't vote while injured, but I strongly urge you all to kill Nictel the Rogue. I wouldn't go this far out of my way just to frame him- I'd simply shoot him in the head. :p

To any who wants to know why I was in the Engine room, I'll PM you.

Well I certainly do want to know what you were doing there, choxorn boy.

You, folks, if you're interested in flying choppers, training spots are open. But I won't train you just because you ask, you have to give me good reason.

I also suggest that the foreign diplomat or whatever contacts me.

Um... isn't the foreign diplomat dead? Hence we had the attack that nearly destroyed our ship...

General notice: anyone wanting to fly has to state why they want to. You're not getting anywhere near the Apache without a good reason.
Um... isn't the foreign diplomat dead? Hence we had the attack that nearly destroyed our ship...
The message from the foreigners only said they couldn't contact this diplomat the night before. That night was the night of the party, which was a voided phase.
As I told you in private, I find large games overwhelming. I'll try to do my best with posting from now on, however.
Be a little more constructive, eh?

Renata can have the Navigation Override Card. She can also have the key to the Sick Bay.

Methos can have the crate again.

I would like the assault rifle.

Daveshack's explanation is convincing enough for me, as I've done the exact same thing time and time again. But the consequence was definitely annoying.

I'd like to think that it'd be better if each sailor sticks to his Main Occupational Speciality (MOS), as such the rifle should go to Ekolite, and the key to the sick bay to Seon.
That is all for now.

OOC: Just to note, I'm here (I was AFK for the week). I'll be reading the thread in the morning; please excuse the inactivity.
