Witch would you rather be, if so why? As for me i choose pessimist becuase having a critical veiw at what is wrong in the world seems to be better than seeing the "light side". Whoops please forgive the spelling errors in the poll

Optimist. I'd rather think that there is hope, than think that there is no hope.

Pessimist. Expect the worst and you can only be pleasantly surprised. Of course according to Murpy's law everything can always go worse.

Yah but what if hope is merly a illusion, we all die anyway. Being upset over the trends of the world shoud be natrul. I would rather have sympathy an concern that drives to help people starving than have just have "hope" for them

True, but you could die as a happy person or at least be happy most of your life.

It's natural to be upset, but I doubt it's good to always be upset. Also, you don't have to be a pessimist to have sympathy for people or help the starving.

ger.. some one used the poll without posting...

I'm a pessimist, because I like being right.

Optimist, because I prefer to be happy.

I'm a happy pessimist. I don't expect things to be great in the future, but I find that my mental attitude determines happiness. Then again, maybe I'm intellectually a pessimist and emotionally an Optimist.

And there's a lot to be said for being pleasantly surprised after having planned for things turning out poorly.

With the bad luck I always get. I tend to view the world half empty. So I am more cynical than idealist.

I suppose you could say I'm a cynical optimist. I tend to take a critical eye to a lot of things, but I'm good at convincing myself that things can and will be better.

I'd rather be a pesimest. If you're always expecting something bad to happen then youre never dissapointed when something bad does happen. you were expecting it anyway. If nothing goes wrong then you have nothing to be sad or mad about, only happiness.

I'm an optimist in the long run and a pessimist in the short run.

I'm an optimistic pessimist.
