You just don't get it. We're not talking about football here. We're talking about kids' lives. Do you think this is really just about football? Do you think I care about football? I care about my future. I care about being punished for something I had nothing to do with. There is only a handful of people that did have something to do with it. The kids of Penn State didn't molest those children. We didn't cover anything up. We didn't do ANYTHING. Why do WE have to be punished? Why does our future have to be shredded?

Wait, why cant you take out private loans? if you cant even pay the interest on your federal loans, then maybe going to penn state isn't even a smart economic move at all. You can always, you know, move to one of the 700 other colleges we have, like most college students do. There are even some in PA cheaper than Penn State.

Without going after the institution, there isn't an incentive for schools to refrain from this kind of behavior. The Cleary Act was written SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS EXACT THING, so schools wouldn't cover up sexual crimes on campus, which they are wont to do. If only Sandusky gets sent up the river, it will happen again.

That link seems more like a quick route to a watch list than a solution to his imaginary problem.

PSU isn't going away because of this scandal, and it's frankly disgusting that the people who run the place have managed to indoctrinate their customers to the extent that they believe that the university's well-being relies on its football program.

Your're not being punished, but the school should be. Credits transfer. Go to a different school, and keep trying to improve your situation. Stop acting like a victim, grow a pair and face the situation with some maturity.

Afaik, they arent going to close the school; but since you dont care about football, then why all this weeping and gnashing of teeth over them maybe loosing their football program for awhile?

You might be more pitiable if you had not ranted on about how these kids won some sort of lottery by getting butt raped by a creepy old man over and over again. Anyways your precious little school and its billion dollar endowment isnt at any risk of shutting down because you get taken to the cleaners in some lawsuits and your football program gets a spanking. And there are other ways to get loans other than the feds if they take the highly unlikely move of cutting off FAFSA.

Do you actually read posts or do you just make it up as you go along? I said, "barely pay" and have already explained that Penn State is the only local campus there is. I can't drive to Bloomsburg. I can't drive to Reading. I can't drive to Allentown. I can't drive to Harrisburg. I worked twelve hours a night. I can barely walk after that.

Okay, fine. So, I and thousands of other students are going to have to be sacrificed on the altar of revenge and be made another victim of Jerry Sandusky.

And tuition will double, because thousands of students won't be able to go to Penn State without federal loans. If they all try to transfer, then there won't be enough room at other schools. The decrease in supply of seats, elsewhere, will result in a rise in tuition. You are going to sacrifice thousands of kids for the sake of getting even.

You still have to be productive, in life. You shouldn't get a free ride, because someone screwed up.

Winning a civil action suit because someone raped you isnt getting a 'free ride'.

I didn't get or ask for a free ride when I was nearly killed.

I didn't sue anyone for millions, just because I could. I got my bills paid, I picked myself up, and found a way to be a human being, again. I didn't go out looking for people to hurt to make myself feel better.

Why is tuition at a school with a billion dollar endowment going to double? And suggesting if a chunk of one university tries to transfer the college system is going to burst at the seams and run out of room is to say the least, laughable.

I have nothing to do with the football program. I could care less about it other than for the students that get into college through athletic scholarships. If the NCAA wants to sanction them, fine. Have at it. But, these kids shouldn't lose out, because of this.
