All in all, that was a good panel. I really enjoyed the discussion in the first segment, and the reveals were cool. The trade system looks phenomenal, and I quite like the Great Works as well.
So Ashubenipal was awesome. They mentioned something about him having techs in his library. Are they just referring to the background of the leaderhead, or do you suppose they have a library UB?
I liked the way they portrait Dom Pedro II, working on a desk with some books. Very serious looking...nothing stereotypical, like beaches and coconuts.
Would someone mind tweeting a question @2kgames if they took out the Pueblo/Anasazi out completely or just Pope? [I don't use twitter and don't want to make one just for this ]
Didn't they say they just didn't go with the leader they had for Pueblo, I don't think they said they were actually scrapping the entire civ.
Here is a few things I noticed in the short demo:
Sea tiles will indeed still suck, if you noticed the tiles off the coast of Warsaw were just 2 food, no gold no nothing and that is even with a lighthouse.
Gold from a trade route seemed to be based on the cities base gold production, and each different resource increased gain by 0.5 gold (it just read 50 but it actually was 0.5).
Previously in the panel they showed a screenshot of the techtree (you could see the ancient and classical eras (it was shown along with some xcom image very early in the panel)) but there didn't seem to be anything new there, then again it might not even have been from BNW.
The trade routes over water produce way more gold than on land. Nice way to have coastal cities. Also I remember reading that longer routes bring more money.
Seeing Zanzibar rather suggests Swahili won't be in the expansion.
And I suppose Pueblo is 50% confirmed, their wording suggested that only the leader was cut.
Also, I like how he tried to pronounce "Edvard Grieg" correctly but completely failed.
No - but then, on the other hand, they specifically said that this was an intentional part of the plan, to force you to put units out there with them. I just hope that they will have special movement rules so that they will not turn around and randomly change direction whenever someone gets in their way!
I'm happy that Assyria is in.
I'm happy for the people that wanted Brazil, but I myself am dissappointed, Portugal may not be in.
For me that's almost a confirmation that Indonesia MUST be in, or I will be even more dissappointed.
