Proofs that God is imaginary

After reading this, how will you defend your belief?
Lemme start right off by saying that I'm an atheist. With that in mind, the following is gonna look REAL wierd. :D

When our good non-friend George Bush Jr. sent lots of troops and tanks into Iraq (omigod, how the hell does Iraq keep popping up for everything???), what was your reaction? Over the long term, most of you came to the conclusion "get the hell out of there". The prevailing opinion right now is that we shouldn't be walking across national borders, not even to save lots of lives. Now, if you happen to think that way, I believe you're full of crap, but that's just my opinion. Your entitled to yours, even though it's wrong.

The point is that right now, we humans are following the mantra "don't mess around in other peoples' business". And that explains it right there.

If we don't want other people messing in OUR business, then maybe God is simply giving us what we think we want? Why is He not curing cancer? Same reason we shouldn't be deposing mean and cruel dictators: because that's messing in other peoples' business.

America is a god

It extends beyond your control and perception. Just throwing that out there...

Where is Heaven and Hell in America?

There's no hell in America. We're a free country.

I'd imagine it to be some hicksville myself.

Well, you can't be both omniscient and omnipotent at once. If you are truly omniscient, you know everything, including the future. So, lets think about what would happen if God tried to change the future (if he's omnipotent, surely he can do this?). Well, if he's omniscient, then he's have already seen that he was going to change it, so he wouldn't be changing it after all, hence he can't be omnipotent. If he's omnipotent, and hence can change the future, then he wouldn't have seen it, so he's not omniscient.

This also gives a problem with the "Plan B" idea. If God is omniscient, he'd already know what was going to happen. So why would he have a backup plan. Indeed, if he already knew that creation wouldn't go in the direction he wanted it to, then why would he create it in the first place? If, on the other hand, he was omnipotent, they he'd have the power to get it right first time....

Possible answers:
a) God didn't do any of it
b) God's not quite as powerful as he claims to be
c) God's mad

I agree on your conclusion, but only based on the premise that we are not created with a true free will.

Imagine the future as a flow sheet, where your action A leads to B in response from me, and so on. In just a few steps the future holds lim--> infinite possible scenarios.

So; what if God decided to limit his own omniscience by giving man (and the angels, according to the Bible) true free will? What if he knows every possible outcome, and that it will always end well? What if he's up there somewhere wondering what your next response to this thread will be?
I'm quite possibly being heretic here, but I'd like that God.

W/r to God being omnipotent: think of the alternative, God decided not to create heaven and earth. Would that make him more good than by creating this imperfect world?
Also, if people truly have a free will, it's up to us to change the world.

This isn't too far off what I'm trying to say ;)

I believe in you El_Mac. :)

Well, then, clearly I shouldn't try to cure cancer either.

Cause you're God? You're human and by definition responsible. Now get off your lazy butt and start curing cancer :p

Did humans create cancer?

No.

I don't know what just happened to the thread, but

Who said they were?!?
