Which factors determine wheter tribute demand is succesful?

I'm sure there is a post about it somewhere... :(

Do you mean in terms of you demanding from an AI? If so, I believe it is based upon power rating.

This leads me to another question: Does the AI care about how their actions will affect their relations with the other AI?

I don't know where it is described in detail. But what I remember from our sgotm discussions on the issue these are some of the factors involved
1) the number of turns since the last demand
2) your power rating compared to theirs
3) are you a valid land target or not (it is less successful if you are not on the same continent)

Okay thanks for the info about screenshots. Now where could i have them online for free that would allow me to post them here? Haha, my first time doing screenshots here :P

Nice timing Lord Herobrine, Im about to post a question with a screenshot so I can explain.

My question:

Why cant I see the Greeks on the score graph? I have met all the civs, Im at war with the Greeks, and I just destroyed about 40-60 of their units in 3 turns, so I wanna see how it has affected their power. Screenshot below.

Now Lord Herobrine I attached this screenshot by: clicking "Go advanced" beside quick reply, then on the advanced page clicking "Manage attachments" which is below all the smilies and submit reply. After clicking manage attachments it should be self explanatory.

@Lord Herobrine: you can also open a account at any image hosting site (ImageShack, PhotoBucket etc.), upload your pictures there and insert the link in your post by clicking insert image.

@Janig: the visibility of power graphs is tied to EP spent on the specific nation. Seems the Greeks have more on you then you have on them. If you want to see their graph focus your EPs on them for a while.

Ok so I know that you can win a game with the apostolic place or the UN election, but every time I'm the first one to build the AP and to trigger the UN election AND the one who usually has the most votes, BUT I cant win! I mean the box comes up to tell me who should I vote for and I click myself and the another box comes up and it says that I have the most votes (and the required ones) then I say ok. then later the same box comes up and the process repeats! I don't know what is happening or what I am doing wrong!!??

Please Help!!:confused::confused:

I don't know if you mean that you have enough votes of your own to elect yourself. However, if that is what you mean, you cannot win that way. You have to have less than enough votes to elect yourself and get enough of the AI's to vote for you to get you the win, even if you only need one of them.

Also, are you sure that the vote is for the winner and not for the AP Resident or the UN Secretary General? Those are not the same as the vote for the winner and do come up every X number of turns. (X varies depending on game speed.)

in addition to the above:
to become eligible for an AP win you must make sure that all AIs have at least one city with the AP religion in it (you can check this on the Members page, and you usually have to spread it to some of them actively). As long as this condition is not fulfilled the vote for the AP resident will come up time and time again but you will not have the option to vote yourself to AP victory.

It means 10% on the culture slider (available with the Drama tech).

OK, I see now. That's why I never feel any happyness effect from theatre except the extra happyness from dye. Simply because I never invest in culture. I always put my available gold in research.

Sometimes raising the culture slider decreases unhappiness which puts more people back to work who earn more money and thus allows you to increase research.

So are the resistance fighters spawning on razing a city a random event or does it always happen under certain circumstances? It seems like I get it every time I raze a city in the modern era, rarely other times.

Only when the defender is running Emancipation, I believe.

Spoiler :
Event139
Partisans
Prereq: Emancipation civic AND one of your cities was razed
Obsolete: None
Active/Weight: 35/0
Result:
1.a number of drafted units (equal to city's culture level -1) spawn at the city site
2.half that number of drafted units spawn in the capital

Source.

So yeah, basically what damerell and bcool said.

Thanks, for some reason I always thought the number was determined by the city pop.
