Their actions.

None of them.Because all of those things that you have listed,Bozo,do not in a sense make me judgmental in presupposing on who they really are!

I take on the account on what they say and do is my preference on what character that i am quite tolerant toward to.

If they respect me, I'll give them respect in return. As soon as I sense they stop treating me with respect, I stop treating them with respect. When meeting someone or talking to a stranger, I don't know if I've ever cared or asked about any of the above. Usually it's where ya from, whaddya do, yadda, yadda. I don't ask what they do to try to determine their financial status or their education level because I don't care about that, I only ask that to see if we have something in common along those lines.

What they say and what they do.

Consistent ethics.
Is it true that to really be sure on what the other person ethics are is to either work with them in many hours of the day on many weeks or live with him or her to really know and give respect on the criteria of observing another individual's behavior on moral conducts in a consistence level?

Not directed at anyone specifically, but I forgot to mention in the OP that I mean what you really base your respect on, not what you think you should base it on. The poll is anonymous;)

Uhm.. how about none of that?

How about their actions?

Ethics v their actions. I have more respect for a racist who admits to what he or she is than I do for an enviromentalist driving an SUV.

Someone could be anyone of the things in the poll and still be a nutjob or extremist.
I'd want to vote politics because of that, but then it might look like I only respect those with my same political viewpoints (republican vs. democrat), which isn't true. Even if I disagree with democrats and liberals I respect them WAY, WAY more than the extremists, anarchists, terrorists, conspiracy theorists, etc.

Actions louder than words etc...
