Random Rants #63: These Rants Don't Run

Not a second chance. I mean that my teacher will stop reminding me how late I am with my presentation.

It feels like I've sort of estranged and offended everyone I talk to
pure numbers that's pribably mostly online people but the ones with the most gravity to the severity are my parents

I can guarantee you no one is offended by your posting, and often socially things may feel estranged but people still read & care & relate to what you say/do even if not voicing so.

I'm pretty sure I broke my toe (fourth toe, next to pinky)

I just stubbed it, it hurt, went for a run and it's purple

I hope that you realise that the only one claiming you're annoying, a letdown, a disappointment, etc. is your own very self.

Not to mention when someone gets to saying those things about themselves, it usually turns into a self-fulfilling prophecy rather quickly.

And vice versa, maybe? That saying positive things about oneself can also turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy?

But still, people claiming they're not annoying at all, completely at ease with themselves, and fulfilling all their life goals, can be a real pain in the back-side.

Well, Donald J. Drumpf keeps insisting he's a winner and he wins primary elections, so he might have a point. :P

Ugh. IFC is the only non-premium cable channel that doesn't edit movies for time or content, but it seems like all they do now is show long blocks of That 70's Show. The show sucks and leaves me with nothing to watch since there's really nothing good on the other channels.

Step up your game IFC, and go back to what made you great.

what is this i dont even

I'm sorry, but I just don't find it funny at all and I find all the characters except Red to be extremely annoying. In fact, in terms of shows that really wear on my nerves, That 70's Show is up there with Friends.

Why can't I just tell her how I feel about her?

Why do I just get overcome by tons of anxiety and nervousness every time I try? It doesn't seem like it should be this hard...

Why can't I at least figure out a better way of flirting than "act really shy and awkward around girl of interest and hope she's braver than I am"

:eek2:

I take it that you identify with Red to a slightly extreme degree, but… I also like Friends.

Don't wait for her to ask you out--there's still a strong cultural expectation for men to make the first move. It's unfortunately up to you. I've found that it helps to stop worrying and pretend that asking her out is no big deal--it certainly doesn't hurt to have a backup plan. Strike up a conversation about mutual interests, find common ground, use a sense of humor, don't overthink it, and just focus on enjoying the conversation and her company. Then, when you're finishing the conversation, say that you enjoyed talking to her and ask her if she wants to go out to lunch sometime. I did that and though we're not officially together, we'll probably go on our seventh date this weekend and I'll see where we stand.

And remember not to discuss her mammary glands or posterior. You're a university graduate.

My classmates are bloody damned [a Honda car which was also named after unfortunate Australian slang]. The fact the teacher joined didn't improve anything.

Did I mention that was in the MIDDLE OF A BLOODY WRITING EXAM?!
