I see a lot of posts around the internet and personal friends of various costumes and such today (Thursday, October 30th)

It's not halloween (the 31rst) and it's not a convenient day (it's a thursday....), so why the heck are halloween things happening today?

i mean halloween is on a friday. Doesn't that work out ideally? (would need to be friday or saturday).

My interest in this is next to zero. Both in doing it myself and in associating with those who do.

There are a couple of good movies, some (canceled) TV shows and some good political satire, but stand-up and sketch comedy is mostly trite, lowest-common-denominator garbage. No stereotype too offensive, no cliché too threadbare to fill an entire stadium, but not with the kind of German who visits this forum (i.e. somebody smart and educated enough to know english).

I watched this yesterday. It's just the same show that he does in English but translated into school boy French. Amazingly the French seemed to like it.
