At least you appear to have survived the drop-bears. They're said to be poisonous.
Yeah, I know, I know, but still, I would like to be published in some fashion at some point in time. And I don't feel like I am that much closer than I was 10 years ago.
Well… at least you haven't churned otu Fifty Shades of Grey.
:ack: How do you even get hooked on that?

:scan:

I thought dip was that thing 'Merican inverted Nachos for…

What did you press to get that

also do you use linux
You can use a workaround here, at least. Example: The temperature today was over 20oC. The "o" is just the small letter "o", and you use and [ /sup] tags before and after (omit the space, of course).

I dunno how long it takes to become a good writer but after spending almost my entire life doing it and making no headway or significant improvement, I'm starting to get discouraged. Between the feedback I get from critique sites, and the rote replies I get when attempting publication, I'm not even close to being good enough and doubt I ever will be.

Crass non-commercial announcement on behalf of the Support Your Local CFC Iron Pen Writers Committee: I am looking for one or two people to participate in Iron Pen 8, to be held at a mutually convenient time for all participants, this month. One person has signed up, but needs at least one opponent.

Winner gets bragging rights. All participants get practice in short story writing, plus comments and feedback from the readers.

If interested, please PM Valka.

Thank you.

:)

Well snus is a more common tobacco product than cigarettes in Norway (and surely Sweden too). It's significantly less hazardous to your health than cigarettes but it's still tobacco and is definitely not doing your body any favours.

I don't really know if snus is less bad for you than cigarettes, but unlike cigarettes they aren't unhealthy for the people around you, so that's a big plus

Definitely less harmfull than cigarettes. For starters you can take any effect on the lungs out of the equation. But IIRC some studies suggest a correlations between an elevated risk or certain cancers and snus usage. Pancreatic cancer and some others I think it is. Long term use will also probably have a negative effect on gums and such.

It's probably the leading cause of ENT-related cancers.

Yeah I think that's a safe bet! ;)

Snus isn't the same as chewing tobacco though, as there's no chewing (or spitting) going on.

No that's queso.
:cringe:

OK, let me rephrase. How does one get hooked on taking some awful power and stuffing it under their lips?

Also, why are you justifying something with ‘The Swedes do it?’

Birds do it, bees do it, even the Swedes do it. Let's do it. Let's take some snuff.

How does one get hooked on lighting some awful stick on fire and putting it between their lips?

Yeap. Kokoro-chan, listen to Tolni.

Interviewed with an insurance company for an entry-level underwriter position and got rejected.
I wasn't super thrilled about the position but getting rejected from three entry level positions in a row doesn't feel great.

My question is ‘what is the air velocity of an unladen swallow?’
