Depends on what you can get (and what your local species prefer), but here in Europe, if you want to feed small garden birds (sparrows, tits, finches, robins, etc.), which are mostly seed- or insect-eaters, then (sunflower) seeds, chopped nuts (maybe not almonds though!), raisins, other dried/chopped fruit (TIL: bananas!), bacon/cheese rinds, rolled oats, are all good.Better recommendation?
