Please don't feed bread to birds. It's not good for them.

Is banana safe for birds? Feeding them grain bread I know they eat fruit idk about bananas.
A quick search showed several sites claiming bananas are among the best fruits for birds.

When it comes to fruits the things to most avoid giving birds are the seeds of apples, pears, etc, as birds are more sensitive to the cyanide they contain.

Well that's news to me.

Do you know French, aimee? It might be some stupid filter that sees if you have any other language skills besides English and uses them to de-select you? idk

No. I just barely squeaked through the classes when I was in school and never was able to retain any of it.

Well that's news to me.
Sometimes a website (or even my own computer) gets the notion that if you live in Canada, you must speak French.

It's been a really long time since I last took French (early '80s, in college; I made it to 2nd-year university level, which is the highest level offered here), and even a long time since I last seriously used it. My speaking skills were never great, since I can't think fast enough in that language (something my grandfather said about speaking foreign languages is that to be good at conversations, you have to be able to think in that language). While I can still read it, I'm too rusty to be able to claim the fluency needed for a survey or review.

Better recommendation?
Depends on what you can get (and what your local species prefer), but here in Europe, if you want to feed small garden birds (sparrows, tits, finches, robins, etc.), which are mostly seed- or insect-eaters, then (sunflower) seeds, chopped nuts (maybe not almonds though!), raisins, other dried/chopped fruit (TIL: bananas!), bacon/cheese rinds, rolled oats, are all good.

Rant: I lost track of the days so bad that I thought it was still April.

So you were off by less than 2 days which is less than 7%. Not bad.

Dang @hobbsyoyo now I start to miss you.

And who doesn't miss him ?! I wonder what he's up to now. Anywhere anyhow I miss good ol' Hobby :( I remember it was just his birthday not long ago and than poof - all gone :(

Probably a misinterpretation of the song, but heck... the title fits and it's a great song. Let's swing a blues for Mr. Hobbs

@Takhisis reminded me of this in the Random Thoughts thread...

Two actors are doing a rewatch podcast of The Office. I enjoyed Gilmore Guys, a watch podcast of Gilmore Girls, and I enjoyed the performances of the actors themselves in The Office, so I figured it was worth a shot. I listened to the pilot episode the other day. 40ish minutes.

... ~7 minutes of which were ads. The damn thing had COMMERCIAL BREAKS!

Look, I get a sponsored ad or two per episode, at the beginning or the end. Fine. Podcasts don't really make money, so you have to earn money somehow. But 7+ minutes with dedicated ad breaks? What cable TV nonsense is this?

In general, though, the episode was kind of disappointing. Extremely fabricated. This can work if there's a host who wrangles the other speakers, so only one person is concerned with structure, but when there's just the two and they're both just following a script, the idea of a podcast becomes significantly less charming. Maybe I just have weird preferences for podcasts. I like them when they have a loose structure but the people are ultimately left alone to make jokes, have debates, etc. But there was a pretty strong element of rehearsal and performance in this first episode. I'll probably try and listen to a few more, maybe they were just nervous, but I was unimpressed.

Rant: I stepped in cat vomit.
